One down...how many more to go?

Well, that was a hoot and a half. Lilah getting shot in the head by little ol' Knox. They should show stuff like that on pay-per-view. I'd order it. When you're stuck inside all day even the simplest things seem to offer their bit of entertainment, even if it doesn't last too long. But I guess I've found my ammusement for the time being. "Scale of one to ten...exactly how much did you enjoy that?"

Interesting survey coming from the avatar of one of the Senior Partners. Or, perhaps not. "Would it be entirely cliche if I gave it a 10." I grinned, "Or maybe a 9. I was hoping she'd actually die, so I would have to try again. Pretty petty, right?"

"Your little whatchamacallit need to recharge or something before each hit?"

A little mantra I learned from working here? 'I do not scoff at stupid, somewhat legitimate questions the higher-ups may have about my work.'

"No recharge time. I'm ready for the next person," I paused, remembering courtesy, "that is, if you are."

Days at work were rarely this much fun. I couldn't wait to see what cropped up next.

Pretty petty, right?"In all honesty, I was looking forward to the test run taking a turn for the worst myself. I had nothing against Lilah personally, but come on. What's the fun of having everything go right on the first go? Sure, its time efficient and should have the SP's doing their happy dance, but it was all so...anticlimactic and kind of a let down. But score one for Knox for not being a total waste of space and actually getting something done around here ( ... )

Once Xander showed me this little cartoon with a duck being pulled off the stage by a stick. His feet left the ground as this all happened, and as he whipped through the air, the program made a little "Vvviiip!" sound. I did not find any amusement in this, and failed to see how it was a demonstration of the pop culture references he and all his friends made ( ... )

Well, I had to hand it to her. She was the strangest ghost I'd ever met. "I guess this works for person number two." Smiling wryly, I slipped another chip into the 'gun'.

"By the way, I don't think I even know who is on the list. Just Lilah, really."

Of course, the two ghosts I happened to deal with first were the chattiest people I'd ever met. Gone were the days of the traditional ghosts rattling chains in the attic, and flinging Ouija pointers across the room.

Honestly, someone quiet would be a blessing at this point.

"Hey Anya, my name's Knox. I run R+D here."

Here's hoping she actually knew her location.
