They headed off for the firm and I headed for the kitchen....to find a bucket and a rag. Under one of the cabinets I found what I needed. Running straight hot water I filled the bucket and headed for the mess our friend made

I can already tell the whole bunch doesn't like me and doesn't want me here. Good. They're going to have to deal with my presence anyway, so it doesn't matter if we're good chums. I've looked over the fascilities and I'm already dissapointed. The rooms are good enough, I'm accustomed to a very spartan existence and adjusting to these conditions shouldn't be challenging at all. But the training room...that's a whole other matter. It's not nearly big enough and in complete disrepair. Not that I anticipate anyone taking training advice right off the bat. The idea that they're not neccesarily at the hieght of thier capabilities seemed to shock this group.
Pathetic.
Might as well take care of problems before they develop. I walk down the hallway and spot the room Jaq is staying in, coming to the doorway.
"If you and me are going to have a problem at any point, I'd prefer it was now, so let's get it out in the open, shall we?"
Looking up from my book I sigh as I spot Howl. What he didn' put me in my place yet? Gotta come find me and finish the job...
Setting the book down I slid my legs off the edge of my bed and stare up at him.
"If you and me are going to have a problem at any point, I'd prefer it was now, so let's get it out in the open, shall we?"
"I do have a problem..." I am a little drunk, but I will keep that problem to myself..not like I am slur your words cant stand straight drunk. "Your ego is the size of the Sears tower, yet you have done nothing to back up your over inflated ego..except to bring a herd of demons in here. Which I cleaned up..."
What was with everyone and no fun? If he had caught us earlier he would have seen that we worked great together. Look at us saving Sam..that was well executed team work.
"You caught us at a bad time and we still handled it...you just can't handle that even though we might be a little sloppy, well we are still good. I do have a problem with you challenging my ability."

"I don't feel the need to defend my usefullness. You'll either accept it or you wont, and if you're smart you'll accept it, because I'm not going anywhere." I feel like I'm talking to a headstrong child, my role here is very simple, I instruct, you learn. There's nothing to be debated about that. My aparently considerable ego is completely my business.
"You caught us at a bad time and we still handled it...you just can't handle that even though we might be a little sloppy, well we are still good."You all made it out of that confrontation alive, yes. But what about a time when the enemy is stronger, faster, outnumbers you and has much better sight? You fight every battle like it's the most important one and you'll be prepared when the important one comes along. and it's coming

"Defend your usefullness? Have you even shown that you are useful. I don't think you know what is coming any more then we do, how do you know you're prepared to face it..let alone tell us we are not?"
Oh my god, it's like chatting with my father. I don't need scolding....got that growing up. Someone has a serious daddy complex.
"And what that says to me is that you know very well you've not reached your full potential. If you didn't think so, you wouldn't be so touchy on the subject."
"There's always room to grow Johnny boy. IF you think you can show me something I haven't seen..then by all means sign me up for your little make over program."
I thought this would be more of a battle, I'm glad I'm surprised. It's refreshing to have someone actually come around in the first few hours I've known them.
"the first thing you learn is that it's all defensive. If you're attacking, you're at a disadvantage already. Let your oponent wear himself out coming after you."

"That will be hard habit to break. I like to make the first move."
Smiling at him I followed along. Moving my body to mimic his same position. Not like I was inept when it came to fighting...I do have about twenty years under my belt...then again, his fighting is more clean and precise then mine. Over the last few years I have become alot more dependant on my gun...I guess my fighting has suffered. Always room to improve, right?

I smirk a little at that. "I bet you do."
I go through a set of steps I crafted on my own, like tai' chi only a little updated, more modern and forceful. She follows me smoothly and I speed up just a little, but we're still going very slowly.
Putting on a more serious face I stand to his side. Concentrating on what he is doing I copy his every move. Watching intently as he goes through the motions. There is a peaceful look on his face as he moves, nothing like the man that walked in the door a few hours ago.
The activity had sobered me up..which was a good thing. I would like to remember this in the morning.
"we learn slow, and then we speed it up."
"Whatever you say Obi Wan...I am happy we were able to clear the air. Not a good thing to fight with your co-workers..right?"
