Having been just been in the country with the world's highest rape rate, I definitely know that on edge feeling. It's not fun. You're right about the acquaintance thing, but beyond that, this comment is stupid. This person needs to think about how they walk through this world, and what a priveledge it is not to have to think about this stuff. It's exhausting to feel like someone is following all the time, to have to look over your shoulder walking home, to feel trapped after dark, to see friends stabbed, beaten, and afraid.
