The last three days have been pure chaos. My dishwasher died the final death due to hard water deposits, so we went down to Sears on Sunday and bought a new water softener and a dishwasher, which we picked up Thrusday. Wow, it was a long and busy weekend. Brett had Friday off so we headed to Marine World as planned. Overall, the park wasn't too crowded, and it was neat seeing all of the attractions, especially the animals. Good news! This morning the swelling on Xbox's paw has gone down! Her nose is now longer raw pink. She's much more lively, and has been exploring a little bit. I've locked up the house and left the patio hutch sliding glass door open so that she can venture in and run back out to hide when she feels threatened. Sabbath and Dante have both been shedding all over the place, so I gave them a bath in the kitchen sink. Dante was more frantic to escape, and Sabbath endured the drenching with stoic fortitude. Having cats sleeping with us again has reminded me why Dante got sentenced to the hutch in the first place. A wood TV tray dropped on my foot while I was trying to reach the dog food. It happened in the pantry. Direct hit. It was stubbed toe pain X 100. The initial shock is finally wearing off, but I've got a nasty old bruise forming on the top of my foot and my toe. Foot flexes without horrible pain, so no broken bones ( Read more... )
