After a certain amount of combat training the sixth sense that told a man he was being watched was sort of a given.
And he was being watched.
While he was reading the Star no less, killing time while the woman in front of him argued with the poor cashier about every. Single. Coupon. Clearly she wanted the store to owe her money by the time this was over. He rolled his eyes, tossed the rag paper more or less back were it went and looked be hind him to see who was looking.
And then he grinned. She was pretty. Really pretty. And that great kind of pretty that didn't need make-up or sexy clothes. "Pictures last longer. Can I have one?" He was asking to be shot down and the grin said he knew it.
It took Amy a minute to realize that she was the one being given the lame line too, and then a minute after that for her to actually come up with a response.
"And me without my camera," she said with a bit of a smirk. "Guess you'll have to just make due with your memory. Hope it'll hold up."
She could tell. But she'd be damned if she was going to let him know that. She shrugged slightly, playing it as nonchalant as she could get, before picking up another magazine again.
"Can't help it if my eye's attracted to the nicest thing in the place."
It was at that point she started kicking herself mentally for flirting. And she hadn't even been in the store twenty minutes.
