Meeting the Parents

Nov 25, 2009 22:26

It was about an hour out of Lawrence, Kansas that Lisa actually realized just that the hell she was doing. Sure, she had been dating Dean for almost a year now and he probably had more clothes at her place than he did at his own. Some of them she wore at night, so she didn't complain much ( Read more... )

Dean had been waiting for that particular red Bentley to pull into the driveway since he knew she was coming. He wasn't necessarily nervous. Per say. He knew his dad was a pushover, as much as he would deny it later, and Sammy would be sold the second she smiled at him, but his Mom was a whole other story. Mary had a tendency to stare a person down, and he really wanted Mary to like Lisa. Really really.

His head snapped up when he heard the motor idling in the driveway, and when he saw her, he couldn't help the grin stretching across his face. Bouncing up from his seat on the couch, he made his way to the front door, hopefully before anyone else noticed she was there, and jogged off the porch to meet her halfway.

"Hey. Miss me?"

"Just a bit," she smiled back. She had really been worried when he had disappeared for a week without calling. Her answering machine was so fired. "Been kinda lonely around the place, and quiet too."

She wanted to pull him into a hug and kiss the hell out of him, but she was afraid of who might catch them.

"I should have tried to get a hold of you again," he murmured, sliding an arm around her waist as he leaned in closer to her. True, people would see, but it's not like he was going to lie about who she was anyway. He kissed her lightly, more of an apology than anything else. "Sorry."

Lisa smiled into the kiss. Yeah, her lips against his let's him know she's forgiven him once again for something.

"Get a room!" a voice called from the porch.

Lisa lifted her head and saw a very gangly teenager leaning on the railing, rolling his eyes. "I take it that's Sam?" she asked, laughing softly.

Things were going way better than Dean had hoped for. He knew that there might be a little resistance somewhere along the way, but it all had smoothed over much faster than he thought it would. Over the course of a weekend, Lisa had made friends with brother, won over his parents, and pretty much became just like a part of the family.

Which really was all he wanted her to be.

He knew his parents' concerns. He knew they thought that he was too young to be jumping into something like this, and that he hadn't known her long enough, but it was just something he could feel in his gut. He knew. He had never felt this way about a girl before, and he just -- wanted to keep her. It was actually John who had let him go for it first, knowing that he and Mary had been just as young when they decided to get married. He was willing to follow Dean's gut, and Dean couldn't have been more grateful for it ( ... )

She knew it was a make-out spot the moment they got there, but she was just content to have some alone time with Dean. But him reminding her that he was going to be gone longer mad he just snuggle into him more. "Probably more because then it'll be the holidays and I'm sure your Mom's going to want you here for them too."

"Yeah, she's a bit militant about the holidays," he said with a bit of a grin. "But I think I might be able to swing a week in between. Make sure my roommates haven't dumped my stuff out on the streets."

"Why would they dump it? Noah would probably just take it all to the pawn shop to get beer money." Lisa smiled a bit, playing with his fingers with one hand. "But I would like that. I'm going to miss you."
