ishmael made a pretty big impression on me too, but honestly i would say skip that and go straight to jeanette armstrong and derrick jensen.

well... i guess not. he lays out the basic "anti-civ" argument in a prety clear, concise, easy to follow way, which is cool. i guess i like it when people get deeper into it and explain things using more real, concrete examples. it wasn't really supposed to be an anti-ishmael comment, but totally check out armstrong and jensen! i could recommend lots of writing on this topic actually..
