I am stunned. I've completed a vid. Not the sweet charity vid I was supposed to have finished by now, but still, a vid.

Well, I don't know how alive I am, but I'm around. I even posted a Supernatural vid last month. I think that was my first post since like March, lol. Life stuff. Ew. It looks like things are going great for you! How exciting! Can't wait to hear what you think of the vid!

Oh, I just loved it! Poor Harry! *sniff* I loved how it felt like a story sort of spooling out slowly but was still really dreamlike. And you always have such a...rhythm with the images. Amazing!! :)

This was a beautifully edited vid and was very evocative, so mission accomplished, I say. I loved the sheer emotion felt from :32 to :44 with us seeing Harry pass through the years, the movement from 1:03 to 1:07 with the wings fluttering to the beat, the gorgeous stretch from 1:25 to 1:36, how 1:38 to 1:42 captured so perfectly 'I won't fade away,' and finally I loved, loved, loved the transition from the Dark Mark in the sky to Harry walking down the stairs to confront Voldemort for the first time on through to the end as he keeps losing everyone he loves. That final sequence is just pitch perfect; the tone, the visuals, the haunting wistfulness just makes me *ache* for Harry.

*squee* You just said everything I was going for! I'm so excited that I was able to get across how Harry's story makes me feel and it made sense to someone else. I'm especially glad that you got the connection between the dark mark and Harry's first meeting with Voldemort. And I'm so happy you loved the end. That shot of Harry in front of the mirror kills me everytime.

That shot of Harry in front of the mirror kills me everytime.

Me, too. He looks so small and alone.

And also, I wanted it to be really pretty.

It is. It's gorgeous. And so, so sad. :( Poor Harry.

Thank you so much! I think the movies (especially PoA) are just so gorgeous on their own and I really wanted to highlight that. And yes, poor Harry. I just want to hug him!

For the record I don't have any problem with your usual style but if this is the way you want to break out of it I can't complain because this is just such a fabulous example of creating a mood.

I love the flow and the sense of melancholy it creates. I particularly admire how you managed to have it make sense without being chronological. I always feel that's hard with this fandom, the characters so obviously growing up naturally suggests a linear narrative.

I particularly loved the owl transitioning into the window on the spiral staircase at 1.26, it's just so pretty. Also the section 2.00-2.10 with Harry's losses piling up, which is just so painfully sad.

It's definitely one of my favourite Harry Potter vids I can't believe you made it in such a short space of time.

Yay for creating a mood! (Although to be fair I think the song does that on it's own). And thank you. I've just been frustrated lately with my lack of movement and I guess all around "artiness". I wanted to make pretty videos like everybody else! LOL

Thank you so much for saying it made sense without being chronological. I was really trying to think of a way to tell his story from the point of view of where he is now, in a way that people unfamiliar might also sort of understand. You know, like how would I explain how I feel about Harry to someone who doesn't know the books? So in that sense young Harry was mostly memories and an example of how he still feels inside despite growing up. Although the end clip in front of the mirror I think is one you have to know the context for to really feel the punch.

The owl to the staircase is probably my favorite part! I could watch that staircase swirl on repeat.

Ha, it's pretty easy to work fast when you cut out half the song! Thanks for commenting. I'm so glad you liked it!
