It hadn't taken too long for Hera to find Ares. Africa was a big continent, yes, but he was her son.
She walked slowly, and she stopped outside the building, knowing that Ares would sense her there, but not wanting to surprise him too terribly.
She waited.

No such luck. Then the larger dogs god a whiff and the barking starting up. Sighing, he slowly climbed off the mattress, careful not to wake the pups that had been curled around him.
"What the fuck do you want?" he snarled, glaring from the doorway. Why didn't anyone ever just listen to his damn warnings?

She remained where she stood, and returned his gaze steadily.
Softly, she said, "I just want to make sure you're alright, Ares."

"I'm fine," he said tersely. "Now leave."

"No, you're not fine." She spoke slowly, softly. "But you won't admit it. And... I'm not even asking for you to admit it. I'm just worried about you, Ares."
