Well, since this show is apparently on the fence and it needs more viewers, I've decided to make this post (Everwood fans, please pimp this).
Reasons to watch Everwood
Great storylines
A world-renown neurosurgeon moves into a small town with his two kids after his wife's dies. It's lovely to see the way the characters develop. And it doesn't matter from what season you start watching, it's still great. I started watching from season 2, and ever since I haven't missed one episode. It's sappy, it's angsty, it's perfect.
Pretty places
Everwood has basically the prettiest settings ever, surrounded by mountains and snow and the lake? Gorgeous. Look further for proof.
Awesome characters
Despite some mistakes in judgement they make from time to time, the characters are absolutely terrific.
Andrew Brown
Andy is a neurosurgeon from New York that after his wife's death decides to move to the small town of Everwood to try to create a relationship with his two children, but mainly his teenage son Ephram. He tries hard to be a good parent, but since he's not really used to it, he struggles and sometimes messes up, but he always has the best intentions.
Ephram Brown
Ephram is a troubled teenager who has been deeply affected by his mother's death. Once he gets to Everwood, he falls in love with Amy. He's a little piano genious pursuing his dream of getting in Julliard until something big happens.
Amy Abbott
Amy is the girl Ephram falls in love with. She's popular and beautiful. When we first meet Amy, we learn that she is in love with her boyfriend Colin, who has been in a coma after a car accident left him with a serious brain injury. She has to deal with a series of emotions once Ephram comes into her life.
Delia Brown
Delia is Ephram's little sister. Although just a kid, she's very strong and independent and opinionated. She's often caught in the middle of the Ephram vs. Andy battles.
Bright Abbott
Oh, Bright. At first, Bright seems your regular jock asshole and all you can do is hate him. But slowly he wins you over with his charisma and charm. He also starts off by being an ass to Ephram, but they eventually become best friends. It's really hard not to love Bright.
Nina Feeney
The Brown's friendly neighbour. Always sweet and willing to help, she's constantly giving Andy parenting advice. Things get a bit complicated for her once she gets divorced.
Rose Abbott
Rose not only takes care of her family, she also takes care of the entire city of Everwood. Sweet, kind and welcoming, Rose adores the simple life she leads.
Dr. Harold Abbott
When Andy opened up a free clinic in Everwood, Harold immediately considered him an enemy. Little did he know that the Browns would become a constant part of his life and Andy would ultimately become his best friend.
Hannah Rogers
Coming in in the third season, Hannah moves in with Nina after her parents allegedly travel to Hong Kong. Geeky and cute, she soon becomes Amy's best friend and starts to like Bright. She also has to deal with the real reason she moved to Everwood: her father has Huntington's disease.
Dr. Jake Hartman
Just like Hannah, Jake, a plastic surgeon from L.A., comes in the third season. Despite the nice guy act, he knows what he wants and does what he can to get it (with a little help from his adorable dimples).
Quotes
Ephram: You know, no offense, but he's really my least favorite thing about you.
Bright: Yeah, well, you're really my least favorite thing about you.
Ephram: Dude, you really gotta work on the insults.
Bright: Yeah, I know. That's how I got the idea. I remember how when I used to go to his office, me and... Well, we used to play with his stethoscope. I checked to see if the plants had a heart beat and... 'Cause Mom said plants were alive. Grandpa called me an idiot. Good times.
Rose: [seeing her husband peer out the window] What are you looking for?
Harold: Trouble.
Rose: Which starts with 'T', which rhymes with 'P' and that stands for 'pot'?
Harold: Oh, joke away my dear. Once word gets out, every dope fiend and pot head within 50 miles is gonna come sniffing around this house.
Rose: And do what? Roll around on the front lawn stoned? Its not catnip, Harold.
Andy: So have you heard? Everwood is now officially dope-free.
Ephram: Bright moved?
Ephram: This isn't helping.
Andy: I'm sorry, Ephram, but I just don't see the difference.
Ephram: Well, it's in the order of the tracks. If I pick Bach, it says I'm ambitious. If I pick, Chopin, it says I'm traditional.
Andy: Which one says you're OCD?
Bright: Come on, bro, first of all, I don't enjoy thinking, okay. Secondly, uh, uh, come on. (walking to the bathroom) I'm not into Hannah. She's, y'know... I mean... She's not my type. I mean, she's cute, but... She's not, like, y'know, I'd make out with you cute. (walking back toward Ephram in the kitchen) Y'know, and besides she's my friend. So that, y'know, when I have a friend that's just how it is. Y'know, when it's like that, so... Yeah. What? What? Hello, why are you smiling?
Ephram: You realize the last two things you said made no sense, right?
Bright: Oh, go to Europe already.
Wiley: Yo! Diaphragm.
Ephram: Go kick his ass. [Ephram points at Wiley.]
Bright: Why?
Ephram: Because I said so. Come on. Go. Kill.
Bright: How many times do I have to tell you I'm not a dog?
Bright: Bro, you're killing me here. Man, all this talking and caring, and you know writing cheesy love songs. Why don't you just hand over your testicles and get it over with?
Where's this pretty you speak of?
