In all honesty, Ed was beginning to enjoy the time he got to spend with Hohenheim. After spending years out in the world with Alphonse, it was nice to have a sense of stability back in Risembool. Although at times Ed felt that it distracted him from his goals (that being the reason he had burned the house down in the first place), It was... comfortable.
Still , he wasn't used to having Hohenheim around, even after almost a year. And these spontaneous, potentially awkward father/son talks would take a lot more getting used to.
Ed arched his eyebrow at Hohenhiem, wondering when he was going to stop hovering in the door way and sit the fuck down. Ed didn't like having to look up (and up and up and up) just to talk to him.

In recent months, he had been working his hardest to be a good father. He had taken the time to read some parenting books and periodicals, as well some first-hand experiences that he found particularly interesting to peruse through. However, he had only recently realized that he had never had what is known as "the talk" with Edward.
Granted, it was a bit late, but he felt that maybe if he did it now, it would show his dedication to the cause.
"Ah...I believe. I believe it has waited long enough, Edward." he stammered.
"I can assure you that it will, ah...be brief."

The only thing Ed could think of was his upcoming mission. Did Hohenheim want to nag him about that? The last thing Ed wanted was a lecture on something he had no control over. Instinctively, he put himself on the defensive.
"Just spit it out already, your pacing is making me nervous. I'll trip you."

Finally, to stop the nervous fussing with his hands, he shoved them inside his pockets and looked squarely at Edward.
"I believe you and I are long overdue for 'the talk,' son. You know, you being a...ah...teenager and all."
