Okay so i got a phone call today. It was about concerned parents about violence on tv and in movies. It was all about how there are no family movies that teach family values and its all violence. Of course I strongly disagree with this. They also said that parents feel like they can not control what their kids watch and the amount of violence

As a parent, I completely agree with you. I have control over what my girls watch and have always maintained that control. There are many shows that are inappropriate for children, you don't turn them on, or you explain what is happening in a way that they understand. It's sheer laziness and apathy to not do that.
