I agree. I bet they were haole huh? Ugh. Idk why it's so damn hard for people to respect other people's cultures.

Do you have to tell your friends to take off their shoes before coming into your house?

FUCK YA. That's how I like it in my house too. The first month me and Brad were dating EVERY time I had to be like "Take off your shoes in my house. What do you think this is? The ranch?" He wouldn't get it but now he definitely does because I've explained how our culture is. It's automatic for him now.

Ya, when I first told them they'd have to take their shoes off, they were stunned. It's cuz I KNOW they don't do that at their house.

ROFL @ "The RANCH"!!! Hahah. I like that one.

I'm so like that too!

I make everyone that comes in my home take off their nasty shoes. First of all, it's customary. Second, I don't know where your shoes have been. If they don't want to take off their shoes, then they can stay outside somewhere. I don't play!

OOOh!! I think it's also customary in the Asian culture, huh? When my Chinese friend, Linda, came over, she automatically took off her shoes. I didn't have to tell her.

I was like, "Oh, you took your shoes off. Usually I'd have to tell people." She knew.

Yep! It is.

When I used to live with my ex (non-Asian), it used to drive him and his friends crazy when I made them take off their shoes. I used to tease them it was either because their feet stank or they had raunchy-looking feet! I know they were embarrassed, so it was understandable. Haha!
