Stinky Trees!

For the past week I have picked up a foul stench on my way into work. It was puzzling me and at first I attributed it to the indoor rodeo that had been at the War Memorial that week. The odor didn't seem to be horse or cow, and the only pigs at the rodeo would have been served in rolls ( Read more... )

We've got them in our parking lot. Someone thought they looked pretty and didn't think about the smell

We have these here - maybe not the exact ones (I wouldn't know), but certainly rather stinky trees that have that distinctive sperm odor. I don't mind them so much myself, but I can see how they'd be less preferable than more fragrant trees.

I never looked into what they are, either; thanks for enlightening me. :)

There is one across the street from me that is stinking up the neighborhood. Another offensive species is privet hedge. When it blooms (very soon) it can be even worse than Bradford Pear trees.
