I'm currently in Safe Mode. I installed McAfee and Norton AntiVirus to find this annoying little deal. What it is is this: It's a little red circled icon with a white 'x' in the center of it. It flips between that and the Windows icon over the earth. It constantly brings up one of those little description windows that are tan and says something along the lines of "Virus found! bla bla bla" right by the clock of the taskbar. When I ran McAfee and Norton, several files were found and deleted, but it's still there. What's worse is, now, it replicates or something of the sort and slows down the computer when I first log in. Any specific fix programs I can download or updates or anything? Anything? Please. Oh yeah, the first time I saw this fucker, it disabled task manager. I quickly fixed that with a little "run magic." Bye.

Man oh man sorry I can't help in identifying the virus but that's what it sounds like.... I normally reformatt and reinstall windows in such despration.

I too normally reformat and reinstall. With a trojan, you never know what they may have slipped onto your system. I never feel secure after that.
That being said, I download (from another computer) the latest antivirus definition files and transfer them to my infected computer, and install them, then do a full scan (in Safe Mode), I also download and run this free standalone antivirus scan: McAfee Avert Stinger: http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/ I also run this free ONLINE antivirus scanner (that has detected things that my regular antivirus program (Symantec Antivirus Corporate 10.2.2000) has not detected): http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/ActiveScan.htm

I also had a big trouble with the Spyaxe.
I've got rid of it following the instructions given by the McAffehelp (http://ts.mcafeehelp.com/) - Please, choose the option "Search" and type "Spyaxe" for searching.
After following the instruction, look for a dll named wbeconm.dll (search this in the Windows search) and delete the dll. This dll is responsible for the beepling baloon in the tool bar.
If you do not delete the dll, the baloon contineus beepling althoufh you don't have ane spyware in the machine.
After deleting the dll above, please delete the registres related to it. for that action, please use the regedit command (start / run/ regedit). To locate the registre, use the location tool in the regedit box (edit / locate / ... and type wbeconm / locate). Delete in the right box the registres related to wbeconm).
During the entire procedure, keep the machine disconnected from the internet and do not click on the baloon.
After, reboot the machine and the plague will be gone.
