I had to re-read that sentence a few times. It took me far too long to remember that AA means administrative assistant in the real world. Finally got rid of the image of you trying to sponsor a bunch of bored/restless recovering alcoholics.

If not, it seems to me that you should, given that (a) you're doing much of that work and (b) you're thus the most motivated to get freed up. Assuming your boss is aware of how much he's swamped, offer to handle finding a new AA. If you do it right, he'll think you're doing him a favor. Plus, while it's more work for you in the short term, it's less in the long term.
