Worst customer service

I have a Gmail account that I got shortly after they opened to the public, although I don't use it as my primary email address. There are lots of people out there named Patti who think that their Gmail address is FirstnameLastinitial @ gmail, and they give out my email address erroneously for all sorts of things. I had a similar conversation with a credit card company who were sending me someone's bills. I eventually gave up.

Although the best part of mine was "We can't look up accounts by e-mail addresses, what's your phone number." "It's not my account" "Just tell me the name it's registered under."

Technically speaking, if you are receiving information like someone else's name, mailing address, account number, how much they are spending for this account (or depositing, depending on what it is) and even connected account numbers, the company is massively violating their privacy agreement.

Perhaps a conversation that if they don't fix it FAST, you'll be happy to contact the person who owns the account and let them know that the company has violated the contract with them, and maybe some conversations with journalists about how this is a regular issue with many companies and here's an example, might change their tune.

Being my firstnamelastinitial@gmail.com gets me lots of those as well. It does suck
