Okay. This isn't a post I wanted to make. I do, however, want a record of what I'm feeling and what my fears are so I can (hopefully) look back on this and realize how lucky I (hopefully) was when all this is over

is the surgery next tuesday? it's good that you have the best minds and hands on the job. i look forward to your first post afterwards.

Next Tuesday will be the consultation and the finalizing of what approach they're going to take. I was told today that I could expect to be asked if I can be ready the very next day, so it should be soon.

I, too, look forward to my first follow-up post ;)

This is really frightening stuff for a person to be facing, especially a dad. I'm glad that you have those pieces of GOOD in your corner, like the fact that it's unlikely to be cancer and that you're in the best hands possible. I'll be sending all the positive energy your way that I can. Please keep us updated!
