I told you about the family of ducks that welcomed and then fare-welled Mum over her last few days didn't I?

Sometimes I wish I had a camera ... I certainly had the opportunity to use it.

very cute yes ... we have a little family of Black Ducks (those ones are Wood Ducks btw) living in the scrub along our laneway ... some morning the mum will run off down the road leading the car (the predator/threat) away from her ducklings, which i'll see dash off into the weeds at the side of the road and hide.

i saw a family of quails on the dirt track to the beach today, frantically running towards the weeds just like your ducks. very sweet and couldnt get the camera out as was driving :(
