Fake Meat at Kitt Peak

I'm observing for a couple nights at Kitt Peak (Arizona), and Jay is here too! Jay was ordering spaghetti with meatballs for his night lunch, and I said "Man, I wish they had spaghetti with meatless meatballs!" So, we were looking at the online night lunch form, and there were options for Meatless meatballs AND veggie sausage! I was very excited

Sometimes I wonder if the meaties realize what they're doing...or do they think we're so stupid we can't recognize a veggie burger. Did the "chef" look at your order, realize that they put the veggie options on the list, but not really believing somebody would want them? And then say to himself, "Well, I'll just put a veggie burger on the plate! That veggie-person will never know the difference!"

I know! I mean, would they ever give you a beef hamburger patty if you asked for 'normal' sausage? i think not. But they probably think soy is soy is soy.

what about that guy from wisconsin that works in the kitchen? can you tell him everything that's wrong with the food? this is why i stop at the grocery store on the way to the mountain and eat black bean burritos during observing runs when i'm by myself.

The Kleevenville guy was not there till my last day :( I think he is my favorite.

Yeah, I need to depend on the kitchen less next time. bean burritos are a good idea.
