Soooo, I locked a number of my old fics, because I don't like them. One of the fics I wanted MOST to erase was The Running Play. For like... so many reasons. It's technically inaccurate, I was a baby fic writer when I wrote it, the characters are unlikeable. Also, it's about football. Who'd miss it ( Read more... )

I do hope you consider putting TRP back up (with or without the edits). I remember loving it and was just coming back to reread. I respect your wishes of course, but please don't be embarrassed about your writing journey! All those "baby writer" stories are the reason you've reached the level of writing you are currently at. They helped you get to where you are. They have value. And as you can tell many of us thoroughly enjoyed them! You really don't have to be technically perfect to genuinely touch people. And those "unlikable characters" were well loved by us :) You were and are a natural writer. Wishing you all the best.

Hi there!
I know that it sounds weird to contact you a year after you posted this message. First of all, I totally understand your decision: you're the author and you must have the total control on your writing.
I'm just another avide reader of Arthur/Eames fics, and I hope I could read your series someday.

hi darling, I know it's been almost two years since you have taken down the fics, but is there any chance you'd be willing to open access again for a short period of time?

you're a fantastic author and I miss reading this beautiful series.

hope all is well with you!

not meant to pressure you, but lately i found myself wanting to reread the running play. because of the breaking up and getting back together part. because of the dog part (mattie? my memory is bad and apparently it's been over 3 years since i've last read it). because i remember it being so touching and tangible and i know i cried when reading it. because the original lj link is still in my all times fave list in my bookmarks (obviously it doesn't work anymore).
so, if you don't feel comfortable, i absolutely get that and respect that. but i just wanted to tell you why i love it so much <3 all the best to you.

Ahhh I’m a bit devastated tbh :( I was reading an m/m football romance on kindle and thought of the running play verse, rushed here to read it only to find it locked :( you’re my absolute favorite Arthur/Eames writer , and I loved every single one of your fics. I haven’t read much Inception fics in the recent years but whenever I wanna read one I’d read yours mainly on ao3 but there are a lot that were not posted their :( I really hope you’ll decide to unlock these fics :(

Leverage verse was also a dark one that I enjoyed re-reading . Personally I think every single Arthur and Eames you wrote were totally in character and lovable and charming . Authors really are their own hardest critics . you’ve always been a terrific writer so I hope you’re still writing :) even if it’s not fanfics !
