You also have to take into consideration that these next generation of kids are more evolved too. Every day more and more kids are being born with "adhd" which is the classic term synonymous with "x-men", and while there are tons of horrible parents, there are also parents out there that just have these wild and advanced children, and don't know exactly how to raise them.
i think its more of a poor decision on their part for taking a bunch of small children to a bookstore where they can't release all that energy. i don't think it makes all those mother's shitty parents though.
It's one thing for the kids to be excited and bouncy. Kids are like that. It's another to have the parents all sitting at a table together completely ignoring their children and what they are doing. That is bad parenting in my opinion. They were not only running around the cafe, but the bookstore as well. I'm pretty sure any good parent would tell their children to sit down or at least keep an eye on them.
if not paying any attention to your children whatsoever while they are in a public place is a GOOD trait for a parent to have, then I guess I'm completely ignorant about parenting.
heres a story i told this in my social deviance class (im real stellar, let me tell you) i work at a hair salon which you may or may not know but now you do, anyways
peoples kids are always crying when they're getting haircuts. well this one kid decided hed like to reach into his diaper take out his poop and smear it all over our couches and magazines in the waiting room.
well, the parents were lolling all over the place. but my nose was omfg-ing.
Having worked in afterschool programs on and off, I totally know what you mean. Its hard to just say that I hate someone but most parents often come very close. These people have children and then realize that their child is ruining their social lives and their work. So what do they do? They ignore their children and go on with their lives. Both parents want to work so badly or both NEED to work so their children are raised by nannies and afterschool teachers rather than by their parents. The parents come by, pick up their kid, get home, put them to bed, and do their own shit.
Its pretty fucked up. I'm seriously anticipating alot of fucked up kids in the future, even moreso than they are now.
