So, I finally got around to purchasing "Hot Water Music" by Bukowski. I'm laughing and making weird faces while I'm reading it. So much talk of farting, and making light of beating people up and murdering people. He even manages to make chauvinism lighthearted and amusing ( Read more... )

I've never read it, but I'll trade you when you're done. I have Post Office, which was great; I'm about to start Notes of a Dirty Old Man.

I've read Post Office and Notes...both were fucking awesome.
I haven't read Post Office in a few years though...so I will definitely read again!

chauvanism is lighthearted and amusing
and crank out that resume and see what happens. we all see people with good jobs that aren't qualified and don't belong there. i'm not saying that's you, i'm just saying there's always a chance of getting a good job (if they exist)

Thats what I'm attempting...

Life is good right now except that my job that I once loved is getting more and more horrible every day and really stressing me out...so I hope to find something a little better...we'll see!

Bukowski is one of those authors I love to hate. I can't get enough of him. I think his unabashed contempt for women is what hooks me. You should read 'Women,' it's probably his most chauvinistic book.
