You know when people tell writers to write what they know? There's a freaking good reason for that. Or else you get stuff like this -

That might work if it was about an alien species? I have absolutely no medical training (unless you count psychology, which I don't) and even I can tell that's wrong.

lol. I find stuff like this happens so often, and it drives me absolutely nuts. People just don't realize how much research actually goes into writing.
