You know me: I like prequels.
For a change, I'm doing a lengthy sequel to my 7 Toddler Challenge!
Just as I decide to let the kids play more and skill less, all that enrichment pays off at school.
The early bird catches the worm! Or in this case, the bug. Heidi hunts for bugs before dawn and catches a Gentleman Beetle.

I channel that Nature enthusiasm into tending the garden.
Adriana wants to practise piano and Laura wants to gain another creativity skill point.

Next, Adriana wants to play chess. Ocean wants to gain a logic point, so I match them up.

Skylar auto-practices ballet to improve his style and grace on the playing field.
And my Sim-self is flippin' pancakes because that's what Angel and Skylar want for breakfast.

We all sit at the table, together -- except for Adriana, who wants spaghetti for breakfast. Tough luck, kid.
She serenades us with a little music to eat pancakes by.

The kids go to school and I start in on the business of the day: landscaping the lot into a wolf magnet.
I give the new flowerbeds unnecessary water *while it's raining* to speed up the weeds.
C'mon, weeds!
I do some constructive gardening, too. I add Sun&Moon's pumpkin seedlings to grow supplies for their pumpkin-carving station.
Not ready to give up, yet, I continue to water in the rain.
Good news on the scholastic front!
(These pop-ups remind me of school updates that my friend receives by app. The kindergarten teacher takes photos and sends little messages to parents.)
Giant bone or tiny wolf?
Neither: it's just Grace the stray.
As an afterthought, the game acknowledges Marcel's grades, too.
Roll on, A-pluses!
At first, Adriana seems diffident about her good grades.
That's better. She just wants to be sure that I'm paying attention.
Skylar loves his report card so much, he kisses it.

There's another A+ behind me, isn't there?
I've got my high-five ready for Ocean.
I was going to take the rest as seen, but Laura really wants me to show you her report card.
And Heidi isn't going to pass up a photo-op.
Then Marcel draws his A+ and I'm caught in the crossfire of dueling report cards.
Those grades deserve a special treat. I pull a platter of Icecream Pots from the freezer.
The flower pots are a hit! Laura can't get the ice cream into her mouth fast enough.
Hey, let's do some eavesdropping.
I suspect that Chandler Platz has a little crush on Heidi: all his wants involve her. In contrast, Heidi just wants to skill and talk to Yvette.
I give Chandler a break and direct Heidi to talk to him.
Unfortunately, he loses his cool and talks about math homework.
It doesn't help that Heidi seems to be accusing him of something. Like she's saying, 'Hey! Are you the guy who wants to talk to me?'

Luckily for Chandler, math is a compelling topic for Heidi. It really gets her elbows pumping!
(Not too surprising, I guess: they're both Music & Dance Sims, and music is supposed to be mathematical.)
That makes Chandler happy! Oh, these artsy types.
I hope I don't regret this next decision. Birds are not my favourite pet, but Adriana wants one.
I've been spoiling Angel and the boys with custom content, so I let her pick out a white bird. She names it Odette after the swan-princess.
I know it's just a game, but seeing that beak so close to Adriana's face makes me flinch.
This part is cute, though. Adriana is playing with Odette by 'tickling' her.
Speaking of custom content, Angel is playing with yet another pirate-themed toy: the Pirate Flip Flop Toy by solfal. It's a wobble-toy. When Sims push it, it wobbles back and forth brandishing, um, guns.
Angel likes it, but the toy only 'wobbles' once and it doesn't give too much fun.
Playing with Bruno the Pirate is much more satisfying! Here she is, having a conversation with him.
Cuddling a teddy bear before bedtime seems like a good place to end this update.
