I could say many things, but I think the simplest one is "Why?" Liking Apple's stuff aside, why post this? I'm serious. Do you find the commercials so great that you can't stop thinking about them and must share them with others? Do you just love marketing as a field of human endeavor? Are you trying to convince others to enjoy the same things you enjoy? Are you trying to convince yourself that it's OK to go against the grain?

I don't mean to be snarky or offensive or anything, but I find this post really puzzling. Maybe there aren't any products I love enough to sing the praises of; I don't know. I'm just baffled as to why you'd go to the effort of doing all this. What's the point of it all? If you can answer that, I might have a few more pieces to the puzzle that is you and that'd be valuable to me, because, honestly -- no lying and no offense intended -- I just don't get it.

Thanks.

I'm generally unmoved by consumer goods. I also think I'm fairly resistant to most forms of marketing. I can't remember the last time I got excited about a product I saw advertised on television. But Mac users frequently are excited about such things and talk about them. A lot. It's as if their life revolves around them. That's why I call it a cult ( ... )
