(no subject)
Blanket snow hit this morning and it's still coming down.
Cara insisted on helping me clear the car of snow so I let her finish up that side. It was five inches high on the hood. Needless to say, I won't be out much today :P I have to run and pick up Dre' from school in half an hour, he's doing community service. One more thing to tag on to his college apps. I'm just happy he's putting such forethought into college ^.^
After cleaning up my computer I set out on the task of cleaning up Dre' and Miranda's computers. Dre' at least has an anti-virus program, Miranda doesn't. I need to remedy that. He has Spybot but has never used it. Goober. So yeah, he had quite a bit on there, not just spyware but also viruses his program has missed. Miranda had a worm and tons of other stuff. Most likely from the infection my computer contracted last night :(
My mood has improved since my computer was salvageable. I was so afraid of major corruption. I'm sure there are still files that are corrupted that I haven't discovered yet, but the important ones are fixed, for now.
Oh and I bitched out the phone company, that was grand. All is well and they are truly the jackasses of the monopoly system. But my bill is sorted out. You would think with the threat of losing all their customers to Vonage they would provide a decent service and stop ripping people off. They should be kissing our asses to keep us right now. But no, instead they are going out of their way to be pricks. Right now they know we have no choice, they are the only phone company in the area, but when Vonage expands to this area... Then what? With the recent bill sitting up before the Governor, franchising authority will be removed and plans to remove FCC standards which means price regulations are out the window. Oh but they can't raise it more than $1 per month. Gee, guess what's going to happen? Which basically means we, the customers, are going to be fucked if this bill is passed.
