You're making me hungry! It's weird because before, when bananas were a-plenty, they weren't really thought of much, but now that we can't have them they're the most desired thing ever. As the Counting Crows once said: "you don't know what you got til it's gone", although I have my suspicions over whether they were singing about bananas.
Banana cake is my favourite type - it's like a birthday tradition. Every year, mum makes banana cake and I eat about 99/100ths of it.
Do you know, I've never had a banana split. Have you?
I hope all the religious people out there are praying for more bananay-goodness. (Bananay is the weirdest word.)
I've never had Sara Lee banana cake... or a banana split. *breaks down and sobs* I haven't lived!!
Suspice, eh? I'll stick it somewhere in my next story, even if it doesn't fit. "Hello," she said as suspice she opened the door.
My mum bought bananas this morning! And we have ice cream and chocolate sauce and stuff... so I will have to make a banana split tonight. Do you know what's great? Fried banana. Beautiful.
We had a Banana Day in my Latin American Civ class last year. Basically, it was an excuse to stuff our face with banana bread and puddings and chocolate covered bananas.
Are they expensive? I hadn't noticed. Is there something I don't know about happening in Australia, or is this an issue with the exporting countries, or have they always been expensive? Jeez. I feel ignorant - little sheltered girl whose parents do grocery shopping. *hides*
Oh, we had a cyclone at the beginning of the year, which wiped out about 90% of our banana crops! Now, instead of being about $2 per kilo, they are $12 per kilo!

I'm so sorry. That would be HORRIBLE. I hope this shortage leaves soon so you're back eating those good old fashioned banana splits in no time.
(Have you ever had chocolate chip banana bread? When it's fresh, it's just about the BEST thing EVER.)

No, I haven't! I'll look out for it.

Aw... I miss the regularity of banana consumption - like, without clearing out one's life savings!
