Swan Song
So wow. Just... one big unbelievable wow.
How amazing was that whole narration with GOD?Chuck!!!! The music, the pivotal role of the impala, the YOUNG BROTHER shots. I felt like I was watching grand art in the form of television. Great, as it was just the steady, calm voice of Chuck played off the intensity of the end storyline. EMOTIONS PEOPLE, THEY WERE PRESENT. After watching you can totally see how the series could have been complete after this one. Not sure if they would have had the whole "Sam by lamppost" scene, but the rest was pretty final. World was saved, one brother dead but given redemption, the other living on in peace. Sad yes, but a just ending. Now though, we'll see what they drum up for season 6.
There were just a mountain of amazing parts, weren't there? Starting first with CAS YOU SON OF AN ASSBUTT. He had me DYING the entire night, the most so being his goodbye to Sam:
"Humor me.
"Oh. Supposed to lie. Ah, sure.. we'll be fine..."
"Stop talking."
HAAHAHAHAHAHA! Misha, I want to post your face all over my walls.
Ok, so that mirror scene... and basically all the Samifer stuff. AMAZING MY FRIENDS. Jared just transforms. When Castiel was blown to bits, followed by Bobby and then Dean's face getting smashed in... wow, tough to watch for anyone else? I seriously had to close my eyes for a couple punches. UGH AWWFUL. And yet, just beautiful in... "Sam it's ok... it's ok... I'm not going to leave you." AND YOU GUUUUUYS. The moment when it becomes slow motion, and Sam closes his eyes to fall into the pit, with the piano music, and Dean's face... It's like I felt the summation of all these 5 years, every single moment leading up to THIS. I was simply awe stricken.
So yeah, I was a weeping mess like everyone. I can't believe how utterly amazing this tiny show is. Kripke, what a masterpiece. Thank you.
