I would only ever have plastic surgery for health needs. But for cosmetic needs? No thank you. I've seen enough women get breast implants and enough botched up plastic surgeries to put me off for life.

writer's block

I don't understand why women would ever get breast implants. Having huge boobs sucks, especially when you're still somewhat thin. Yeah, men stare at you all the time, but also, men stare at you all the time. It ends up becoming your only defining feature to some people, and it's incredibly frustrating. Also, it makes bra-shopping a freaking bitch. Women with small/average size breasts have it so good (and less back problems :\)

You have my sympathies. I guess it's easy to think large breasted women have it all because our culture practically worships them but I guess the cosmestic surgery brochures don't really tell the truth about what actually having large breasts entail.

Seriously. It's just not healthy. Why ruin the body that God gave you when you should treat it like a temple? You only get one body. :\

It's disgusting that women (AND men) would mistreat their bodies like this. Is it hard to just live a normal and healthy life? :/

In a way, I don't blame them for wanting to drastically change their bodies at any cost because the media places so much importance on looking perfect. They brain wash people into thinking that if they don't fit a certain criteria for beauty, they are ugly and therefore less of a person because of it. It's the best marketing scheme the cosmetic surgeons have.

Also, I agree the exercising, healthy eating and a makeover are than getting a quick fix that could deface your body for life. It's hard, but at least there are much less risks.

Here, here! I don't understand putting onself through so much pain and risk in order to look "beautiful". Usually plastic surgery actually makes people look worse, simply because it's so obviously fake.:/

*nods* They always show the people who have good experiences with plastic surgery rather than the ones with bad experiences on the brochure. I watched an episode of Desperate Housewives the other week when this one character showed her husband a guy who had botched botox to put him off getting it. If only everybody had a spouse like Lynette to talk them out of these kind of things.

Anyways, I agree that there are better ways to make oneself look beautiful. Eating right, exercising and getting a new wardobe are less expensive and more safe ways to improve your image.
