Hm. "Shoubou" (消防) definitely means "firefighter," but I always sort of assumed the "bou" in "Shou-bou" was more like 坊, which is an affectionate way to refer to someone else's son. Unfortunately, I still haven't bought the manga, so I don't know how it's written out. *shrug*

It seems like I've heard that before, somewhere. It would make sense, given Tatsuya's reaction every time Shige uses it. ^^

If I remember right it's a bit like calling someone 'kid'. Watari calls Hisoka 'Bon' in Descendents of Darkness (Yami no Matsuei). ^_^
