Look, your parents are getting older, they will start to lose their short term memory (mine are starting to as well), it sucks, but we have to deal with it... whichever way we choose to deal with it. My father's forgotten how to spell my sister's name (which he chose), he thought I was trying to fight him so he hit me, and he's done a lot more which are big signs of losing his memory. My mother becomes more ditzy sounding everyday as she forgets things...
