Yeah, I always take the drama cds into account when I write anything Weiß because it fills in the gaps in their stories that the anime leaves behind. My fic One was heavily drawn from most of them.
I love the manga, and the panels of Aya all tangled in Yohji's wire is AWESOME.
Knight and Ran's story always breaks my heart. I ship Aya around with practically everyone, but to me he was always meant to be with Knight. And it never works out for them precisely because of this above scene, and everything that comes afterward. They move in different circles now, and you express that so painfully well here.
It was very cool to read a fic based on the drama cd! X) Thank you for sharing, I really enjoyed this. ♥
I love Aya and Yuushi too. What really breaks my heart is the drama CD where they meet up in a bar during Gluhen, and Yuushi invites Aya to his house for Christmas. Then at the end of the anime, Yuushi thinks Aya and the rest of them are dead. *angsts*
Oh, I know!! ;__; I love that scene where they promise to meet...it's so uncharacteristically sweet. But then the following Christmas, Ran's bleeding out of his stomach on a cold sidewalk on the other side of the world. So tragic. And yet, I still try to maneuver the story so they end up happily ever after somehow!
I wrote a lot about Yuushi and Aya in my first fic, One, and also wrote heavily from the drama CDs. I thought how awful it must be for Yuushi to think that Aya had died by the explosions that Crashers set up. That must be devastating.
Simply wonderful. And very very interesting. I like the transition, how Yohji just doesn't fall into Aya's arms but slowly realizes and learns about things naturally. It's realistically a struggle, and the imagery is great. I look forward to the next installment!
It's not easy to question your sexuality, and it's not going to be easy for Yohji, who is a notorious playboy. He needs to work a lot of things out first.
I read this. Then popped over to read the drama translation. Wow! I felt so bad for Jack and Tiffone.
As always, you do a fantastic job of weaving in elements from the source material and then expanding on it to make it your own. Fascinating to see Yohji slowly being reeled in himself by his interest in Aya. *gg*
The drama CDs are SO full of angst! There's so much more where that came from, and I'll be using more of them in future chapters. Yohji doesn't have an easy time of things, and he's got a lot to figure out about himself.
Thank you for that! I always try and stay close to canon if at all possible. We get so much more information on them in the drama CDs. It's a shame that we didn't get more anime. With the original character designs!
