If you liked Spiderwick I recommend Holly Black's YA fairy books - Tithe, Valiant, and Ironside. They're fantastic.
Spiderwick is for a younger audience - not that there's anything wrong with that.

It's funny you should mention American Gods, I'm craving that book again too.I've been wanting to read it again for ages, but it's in storage and I keep forgetting to go and get it, plus I'm not entirely sure how to get there on public transport. Bah.

I'd send you some books to borrow, except it would probably cost you just as much to send them back as it would to buy them.I think. I don't know.
