Core Party Members :: Alignment Buddies
Character Name
Canon Pings
ES Notes / Connections
Sailormoon
- Alignment: Neutral Good
- Class: Aristocrat (seriously, that's a class; it's for NPCs)
- Race: Halfling (fun-loving & cute in a small package)
- Her sister, a very sweet little girl whom Seren tries to watch out for without smothering; Sailormoon calls her "Sere-chan"
- Seren would never consider taking Sailormoon on "an adventure", because she pings for an Errand Runner: an innocent who should not be involved if at all possible
- Gifts: Kairi's jumper/dress from KH II
[[Sailormoon in Seren's Journal]] //
[[Seren in Sailormoon's Journal]] Handmaiden
- Alignment: Lawful Good (Justice)
- Class: Paladin (Upholding law and righteousness; combat style)
- Race: Dwarf (not emotionally expressive, goal-based with little time for play)
- Character: The Inquisitor/Joshua Rax (truth-seeker through magical and mundane means for The Church of Heirouneous and Veluna's Theocracy, occasionally seen as "too paranoid", but more often appropriately cautious for each situation)
- Seren trusts Handmaiden with her life, especially since she saved Seren's life once already
- She acknowledges Handmaiden is not the most, erm, expressive person in the world, but she is a true friend, and she can at least depend on her
- She has seen Handmaiden in battle, using powers of healing, and knows her power-source is The Force; they do not argue about religion
[[Handmaiden in Serenity's Journal]] //
[[Serenity in Handmaiden's Journal]] Youth
- Alignment: Lawful Good (Regimen)
- Class: Monk (physical skill-set)
- Race: Gnome (a bit zany)
- Character: Temple men whom she grew up & the enthusiastic young men she mentored at her temple
- Youth's mannerism do strike Seren as odd, but also very familiar and so she does not 'tolderate' them, she engages with him in dialogue as much as possible to better understand him
- She has not developed a very deep friendship with Youth yet, but given time she will probably trust him immensely
- Most memorably, Youth and Seren had a jumping/leaping contest in the Moonbase
[[Youth in Seren's Journal]] //
[[Seren in Youth's Journal]] Fred (sub-headed with Storm)
- Alignment: Neutral Good
- Class: Wizard [Loremaster Prestige Class] (Knowledge without social graces)
- Race: High Elf ("my culture has been around longer and therefore should be more highly respected" -- values things that have history, a bit of a culture snob)
- Character: Cedric Whitefire (very high-level Loremaster/Wizard - buffed Seren for battle many a time)
- Seren respects Fred a great deal for intelligence and observations, but she does often find herself thinking how foolish Fred can be in certain circumstances
- She was not a part of the epic clash about magic that Fred had with Grace, but she is vaguely aware of its repercussions
- She has an amicable working relationship with Fred at worst, though they have not "hung out" to probe any deeper into her personality, except for a short discussion regarding childish teasing
- Seren knows that Fred was close to
Storm, and Storm reacted to Seren in a similar manner as Fred in terms of explaining technology
[[Seren in Fred's Journal]] Gene(-1)
- Alignment: Neutral Good
- Class: Rogue (Social skills & conversationalist)
- Race: Human ("no time like the present to take action")
- As much as Seren likes talking to Gene, she has not met him and does not know much about him except that he seems "nice" over the journals; this could be a very shocking encounter for her, or a new friend
- He complimented her turns of phrase as "wise", which she immediately took very seriously in passing on to new characters
such as Seven.
[[Gene in Seren's Journal]] Paladin
- Alignment: [Appears] Chaotic Good, [Actually] Lawful Good
- Class: [Appears] Bard (impotent battle prowess, but with intent to help), [Actually] Favored Soul (high level version of a Paladin-like class w/ a few powerful spells - spontaneous caster)
- Race: Aasimar (descended from celestial beings)
- Character: [Actually] Sir Arden (Mentor and Knight she squired to; the same Paladin who fell to madness and whose sword Seren took to complete his mission)
- I hope Seren will be a part of Paladin discovering that he is much more powerful in terms of battle prowess than what he displayed in the fight against the Rust Monster with Handmaiden taking point and Seren helping out
- Seren does not yet know Paladin's name or handwriting, having only met him in person and at the time she couldn't hear the word "Paladin". I hope to change that soon.
- She understands the way that Paladin speaks and it resonates with her "old" speech style, so she considers him a good acquaintance to pursue a friendship with on that basis alone
[[Gene in Seren's Journal]] Traveling Companions :: Accidental Acquaintances
Character Name

ES Notes / Connections
Grace
- Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
- Class: [Appears] Aristocrat (NPC class), [Actually] Sorcerer
- Race: [Appears] High Elf (culture snob), [Actually] Half-Elf (child of two cultures, but an Elven Mama's girl)
- Character: [Appears] Court Noble that would hire adventurers to do their dirty work, [Actually] Jace (powerful sorceress specializing in offensive spells)
- Anytime that Grace talks about the world she comes from or the way she thinks it works there, Seren is pinged for the adventuring lifestyle in a High Fantasy world
- They have a mutual understanding about how titles affect what others think of you, and Seren at least respects the power of magic even if she thinks that Grace is mildly obsessed
[[Seren in Grace's Journal]] Stigmata
- Alignment: Neutral Good
- Class: Bard (jack of all trades)
- Race: Half-Elf (sullen type, doesn't feel like he "belongs" or "deserves" anywhere)
- She likes Stigmata and thinks he is a helpful person, but that he needs a few friends to bolster his self-confidence
- She is worried about his dream that Angels were happy about the end of the world, since she is familiar with angels as a divine force of warriors in aiding humanity
- Stigmata repaired some of the items Seren retrieved from the Scavengers' Yard to increase their value
Juliet
- Alignment: Neutral Good
- Class: Bard (well-dressed & flamboyant/limelight-loving personality)
- Having met Juliet now, Seren thinks that Juliet is a little odd, but still thinks Juliet is female
- Juliet is a friend of Sailormoon's, so that gives Juliet a bit more collateral in Seren's book
Serenity/River Tam
- Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
- Class: Wizard/Alienist (Planar Aether-alien creature summoner)
- Character: Mindbender (Psyonic-type Wizard) that often used the spell magic jar to get out of situations (forget his name) and Zagyg the Mad God of Magic
- Nametwin! In many ways her opposite, this person's appearance is the reason she chose to start calling herself Seren instead of Serenity
- Seren feels bad for Serenity, subconsciously thinking she could teach her mental defense mechanisms to cope with her inner demons
- Seren doesn't understand most of what Serenity says, since it includes many references to modern science and Seren isn't very book-learned even for her time
Furball
- Alignment: Neutral
- Class: Druid (shape-shifter ability & speaking with animals)
- Character: Marigold (long-time party member with a wolf animal companion for many years)
- Seren speaks and writes to Furball in a completely normal voice, knowing and expecting Furball to respond in a rational manner thanks to Seren's Tongue of the Sun and Moon ability
- Seren currently thinks that Furball has a human form and just doesn't know how to transform out of her wolf form
- Gift: painting of the sky from the "Velvetopia" Psychonauts world
[[Furball in Seren's Journal]] Crow/Link
- Alignment: Lawful Neutral (formulaic note-taker with no known motive)
- Class: Ranger/Horizon Walker (look-before-you-leap mentality, precise & calculating for one solid strike, curious about environment)
- Crow is the type of person that Seren would ask to accompany her on a mission that involved reconnaissance of the environment around her, as he appears to be the meticulous note-taker type of person. It doesn't matter that she doesn't know him that well - she would ask for his aid based purely on his apparent skillset being rare. (You have no idea how rangers were in her canon, yet always appreciated on every mission.)
[[Seren in Crow's Journal]] River/Haku
- Alignment: Neutral Good
- Class: Fochluchan Lyrist (a druid/bard combination, keeper of lore, unique and mysterious divine caster)
- Character: Little Dragon (of the Dragon Disciple prestige class) -- non-monk, orphaned child-disciple Lady Tsuri took on much like her temple took on her when she was young -- the girl was eventually discovered to be descended from a Silver Dragon (known as "Shield Dragons"), adept with magic and in battle, and pale in complexion by accidental coincidence (or divine fate, according to Lady Tsuri)
- River interests Seren because of his strange healing magic skills, which he appears to be able to do inherently rather than by training (as she had to do in her canon).
- As Seren discovers more about River, the association with the Fochluchan Lyrist will become more prevalent; right now he is like a moth drawn to light - intrigued, but unsure if she should approach such a wonder
[[Seren in River's Journal]] Grudging Antagonists :: The People She Doesn't Like/Understand
Character Name

ES Notes / Connections
Alchemy
- Alignment: True Neutral
- Class: Rogue/Dungeon Delver
- Race: Halfling (I'm not even kidding - every Halfling is assumed to be a Rogue)
- Character: "Rogue1" - a character that only looked out for himself and often got the party in trouble as a result; many rogues are athiests due to their similar backgrounds and less-than-savory skill-sets
- Seren honestly pities Alchemy, because she has a vague idea that there are a whole host of gods that exist in the world (not all good) and that he couldn't find one to worship. She also thinks that wherever he came from must have concealed the fact that multiple gods exist, so he simply rebelled against the single god in the established order.
- He seems intelligent enough and she found his arm on accident in the Scavengers' Yard, but their differences keep them from being on friendly terms. She thinks he could use a few more ranks of diplomacy.
- He still owes her a favor and she will probably ask him to erect a shrine for her, as another attempt to reconcile divinity issues with him. She'd still help him if he needed it, but not happily. He's the kind of person she'd never want in her party, but knows that he's useful and so would grudgingly allow him to come along.
- Based on his skill set, she assumes he is some sort of Rogue (most Dungeon Delvers start as Rogues) and in general wouldn't trust him with just about anything, including her coin pursue
[[Alchemy in Seren's Journal]] Angel/Lumio
- Alignment: Lawful Neutral
- Class: Cleric
- Character: Priest of Pholtus
- The people that Seren thinks hid information about other gods from Alchemy? That is who Angel pings as: religious zealots who run an entire country and say that no other gods exist, unlike in the Theocracy of Veluna where Rao is revered, but the existence of other gods is acknowledged. They do terrible things to "heretics".
- Like Alchemy, Seren pities Angel. To her, religious fervor is extremely important, but not channeled into a negative force like denying the existence of other gods.
- Unlike with Alchemy, Seren seriously doubts she and Angel will ever get along, or have a civil conversation.
[[Angel in Seren's Journal]] Trigger
- Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
- Class: Fighter (ignorant of a Paladin's honor, the type not-so-affectionately referred to as "BDFs: Big Dumb Fighters")
- This man had the gall to impugn the lady's honor (10 points if you get that reference), saying that rankings and titles among Scavengers ("commoners") was not knightly; like Angel, someone who in 1 conversation went straight to the bottom of her list
[[Trigger in Seren's Journal]] Still to add: Medium & Eternity as "strong feelings about this person" and Apple & Lezard as "mild opinion"
Still to add: Logs by character
