A futile effort? Perhaps. But I'd like to believe that it is not the case.

Hello, Haku-san! I've finished my nap and I feel loads better now.

You -- did you hear those words, too? I didn't catch all of it, but I heard some. It sounded really scary, and I don't really understand. Was it magic? There was no one around when I heard the voice.

Haku-san, what's going on?

I do not know what trick they used, but...

Ne, Sakura-chan, do you remember what I told you about the Church?

Oh, I, I, um . . .

No. Not really. I-I'm sorry.

The person who spoke - I think he's called the Preacher - is capable of doing many things. Sad, cruel things.

Please avoid him at all costs. If you are not sure of what he's saying, it's best to not believe it. His words are made to drive one to hopelessnes.

((ooc: Maybe because it hasn't entered any log yet. XD))

If it's a futile effort to not be drawn into the Church - which I doubt, if only because I must - then I'd rather make them work for whatever it is they'd want from me instead of just handing it to them.

True enough. Though I don't believe that we necessarily have to join the Church for them to reach their ends. Giving up and rotting here, I think, is what they're aiming for.
