Janitor/Office log new school year flavor [audio/action]

Aug 15, 2011 02:07

[Raiden's voice rings over this post; quiet and raspy... clearly too tired sounding to even make an effort to type. He sounds downright glum. Defeated. Guilty.]

Bunch of new people, huh? Hi. I'm Raiden, the janitor.

I'm taking a couple of days off. ...Just deal with it.

If this is the 15th then all the puddles are Raiden's tears

Raiden was never adversed to helper robots. Lash had built him a veritable army of cypher-rhoombas which were helpful... when they weren't malfunctioning. It was dirty work and he didn't like it but still, the guy needed to look busy and earn his paycheck, right?

But he didn't really care about that this week, so messes were predictably, becoming a problem. Fine, whatever. He opened the door, looking tired and enthused. Oh, one of the new students, huh? He expected Master Hand or someone to be reprimanding him, his tense posture slouched ever so slightly. Unless that's what this guy was here to do...

"...hey?"

"Yeah they're..." Raiden trailed off. "I'll get to it eventually. Just watch your step."

He nudged the door a little, as if he wanted to close it shut.

Open or Closed?: BRO TIEM

Brock's BRO SENSES were tingling. As socially awkward as he was, the gym leader certainly knew when something was bothering one of his friends, and Raiden was certainly bothered.

Obviously, it was nothing that baked goods couldn't fix.

So off he went to the marvelous land of JANITOR OFFICE, a plate of brownies in one hand.

Knock knock!

Yeah, his little Janitor Office was the best place to just hide and put his face on the desk because he didn't expect to be bothered.

Which is precisely what he was doing. And what happened.

The blonde's head shot up from the desk, red mark making itself right at home on his forehead.

"Who is it?" He mumbled, not bothering to get up.

Was that... the smell of brownies?

"It's Brock," he answered, taking care not to open the door just yet. It was clear from the janitor's tone of voice that something was obviously wrong.

"I just wanted to make sure you were doing okay."

"Brock..." Both guilt and comfort instantly settled into the pit of Raiden's heard, aching as it was. Sluggishly, he got to his feet and answered the door.

"Yeah I..." Was about to explain and in the vaguest way possible, but he was distracted by a tray of brownies.

"Did you just make those?" The answer was obvious, but really made for a good distraction.

Blacky had made herself scarce since the island vacation - in truth, the "curse" of life had left her before the trip was even over, and it was then that it revealed itself to truly be a curse. Quick as it had been, a heart attack was a far more painful end than she'd been expecting.

She didn't seek the spring out again.

She did decide, after a few weeks, that she had spent far too long wallowing in her own self-pity for what was far from the first time. She still existed, the people she cared about were still alive, and she had responsibilities. The school year had begun again and she still had yet to teach her first class. Monday. She would do it then.

For now she would look for comfort in the one who made her short second shot at life all the more worth it. She stood outside TD-03, stifling a yawn as she knocked on the door.

No Raiden sucked all the life out of her when they did it in the hotel room.

She had disappeared again. Like the ghost she was. Raiden tried not to question it; He wasn't all that different in that regard, and appreciated it on some level. On another level, he realized he was painfully lonely. This recent bout of self-isolation didn't do much to spur these thoughts. For someone who was so afraid of him leaving her, he couldn't help but wonder what would happen if she left him.

Like Gamera.

He wasn't given much of a chance to wallow in any such thoughts when a knock at the door distracted him.

"Yeah?" He didn't get up, but looked to see if he could recognize the silhouette behind the small, frosty door pane.

DIED IN THE THROES OF PASSION okay not really

Apparently death couldn't even keep her away from him forever. As much as she considered while alive being the one to abandon him before he could do it to her. Since the accident the thought hadn't even crossed her mind. In fact, she was considering taking advantage of her ghostly abilities to just pass right through the door... but that would be kind of rude, wouldn't it?

"It's me," she called softly, sounding a little tired. Tired and hungry. Maybe she should have shown up unannounced after all. Oh well.

Maybe a little, but if Raiden had ghost powers, he would totally do that all the time. Like a ghost ninja.

Her voice was one he'd recognize anywhere, and he pulled himself to his feet to quietly open the door.

"Hey."

He looked about as tired as she did.

Ugh, yet another dull Monday. Walking through one of the school's hallways, Jeff couldn't contain his sighs. Was there nothing he could do to relieve his boredom? Not even reading or listening to music sounded fun.

Glancing up, Jeff noticed the other man down the hallway. But lo and behold, was that the janitor? It was indeed. Jeff remembered their previous conversations.

The janitor was rather easily riled. This could prove amusing. With a smirk on his lips, he approached Raiden.

Yes he was, though in his current state it might be slower or faster to ruffle his feathers, entirely dependent on the subject.

At the moment, the janitor looked dreadfully apathetic about everything. Especially the burn mark on the wall he was trying to clean. (Read: not very hard).

Strolling towards the other man, Jeff hummed in appreciation at the burn mark. That was certainly some scorch. But considering all the magic users at the school, not too surprising to see.

"Looks like you have your work cut out for you," his tone was light, conversational. He watched the janitor out of the corner of his eye. The older blond seemed to be in a foul mood already. Perfect.

"The work never seems to end around here, does it? A shame."

The curse had finally left Lash and she found it strange not to have wings anymore on her back after two weeks. Yet now that she was back to normal, it made her notice a lot more things she had tossed aside in her mad power trip - like noticing how strange Raiden had been acting recently. You'd think he was a ghost.

It didn't take too long for the wunderkind to sneak in close to him as he was busy mopping the floor.

"You okay?" If you squinted you could almost imagine she was almost caring there.

Maybe he WANTED TO BE A GHOST.

Lash was surprisingly sneaky when she wanted and he flinched.

"Oh." He took his attention back to the floor. "Yeah."

Even an idiot would be able to tell from the tone in his answer that was completely false.
