I have to wonder if there is an easy way to extract all my posts from LJ. Not that I'm wanting to go to another place. Just like all good practises, it would be nice to be able to keep a local copy of all my silliness from years gone by; or at least I hope there was silliness back then. It's slow having to go back through it all

I use ljdump, available here: http://hewgill.com/ljdump/

I just run it nightly in a cron job, and it grabs all my entries and comments, and saves them as XML files. IIRC it required a small amount of tweaking (I think it likes to save things in the PWD, ordinarily), but otherwise it works great for me.
