The Ages Past
Some thousands of years ago, from the very souls of his most beloved family members, The Maker created 12 Memories to carry on their memories. In doing so he lost his life, but he preserved his own memories by making one last Memory. In this matter, The Maker and his family are able to survive for generations, often being called witches and warlocks.
Sorcery is key. In the ages past, magic has been dabbled in endlessly, rumored to do anything from immortality to causing painful death. The Maker and his family are willing to risk their lives to delve into this dark magic.
Their dream? To destroy the world and make it a better place.
...For themselves.
The Very Present
A few generations down the line, The Maker resurfaces according to a prophecy scrawled onto the walls of a tomb. The Maker is currently the president of a toy making company, using its products to taint the minds and hearts of children and adults alike.
An organization known as The Black Order dabbles in its own source of magic in order to combat the dark forces. Their weapons are Hearts. The optimistic among them like to call these "Innocence," for they are, in every sense of the word, 'innocent'.
