*bangs head against wall*

The usolicitated emails from various university spammers has started again! I rather enjoyed not having my uni email account spammed over the summer and it's very annoying for it to start happening again. They all seem completely random and irrelevent, such as oppertunities for Law graduates and testing your proficiency at speaking Japanese.

at least your spam filter doesnt block out emails from potential employers, Apple and the government...

If I wanted a job I'd look for one. I'm quite happy being a lazy student right now.

I don't think you can use them on MUSE, plus they all come from @shef.ac.uk addresses, which I imagine would make it hard to filter.

I use them on both my own Sheffield email and the noddsoc email account - it's under Options -> Filters -> Edit your Filter rules. Mostly I just set up a filter for all my lecturers to move their emails to a folder called Important Stuff. Annoyingly you still have to go into your inbox for them to be filtered, but I still find it a lot easier than manually looking through all the crap.
Of course if you generally get your important email from random people then its a bit more of a problem (which I am starting to find with the NoDDSoc email account now, but meh, still gets rid of a lot of the spam we had before).

oh, and if you actually only use MUSE for email it's much easier to just go to http://webmail.shef.ac.uk
