Summary: Having the flu isn't all bad

Ziva rolled over with a groan. The flu. She could survive capture in the desert, years in Mossad, and working with NCIS - but the flu just might kill her. She had been fine the day before. Maybe a little warm, and maybe her throat hurt a little, but she had been fine. Today she was burning up and nothing was staying in her stomach longer than a minute.

Kicking the covers off she tried to sit up, but found she didn’t even have the energy for that small motion. Flopping back against the pillow she punched it in frustration. Looking down at her blanket she sighed. It was too far away to reach, and the chills that accompanied her sweat filled fever were setting in.

She was on the verge of tears when her bedroom door swung open. Tony came in, carrying a packet of pills and a glass of water. With a soft smile he grabbed the blanket and pulled it over her. She meekly accepted the pills and water, relishing the feeling of the cool water on her throat.

“Want to watch a movie?” he asked, brushing her hair from her face.

She shook her head. “I am fine here. You need to be at work.”

“Gibbs told me to take care of you, that’s what I’m doing,” he said, pressing his cool lips to her forehead. “You’re still burning up, and your clothes are soaked. Let’s get you changed, and we’ll watch a movie.”

She shook her head. “I don’t have the energy.”

“I’ll help,” he said with a smile. “I’ll even carry you into the living room. And maybe later we can get some chicken broth into you.”

Ziva nodded and let him help her. Maybe having the flu did have a silver lining after all.
