A day at the Pyr rescue

Feb 19, 2012 15:28

This is going to be picture heavy ... and long. Very long. lol Warned you :P

Me and Shane ended up going to the pyr rescue for the day yesterday. It has been a while (since early fall) that I've been there.
New dogs that are leaving within the week to their new homes or foster homes.
One dog that we haven't seen since she was adopted was Dakota! She was out Newfoundland X Pyr cross who we dubbed "raptor dog". Mostly because she would run around in the tall grass when we walked her and all you would see is her tail sticking from over the top. Her owner is away for 2 weeks and is adopting another dog who will be going with Dakota when she [owner] gets back. :)

Now this picture pretty much sums up how much Reign (jumping up) and Oz (biggest poof in the picture) were excited to see us.
So I danced with Oz lol The border collie is Tess. He had his tongue out most of the time lmao

Lol happy happy Oz xD

I'm an Oz fan....
Buuut this kitty is not :P

After playing with Reign, Oz, Smitty (another BC) and Tess I went to find kitties. And I found tons of them.
Yeess, YEESSS GLORIOUS KITTIESSS!! and it was complete with maniacal laugher x3

I must say all the kitties were awesomely cute but this big black and white stole my heart :3
Story behind him is that he was a feral cat and they tried to make him in to a pet. It took about a year to get him to be like he is today.
They caught him and put him in their bathroom, where he fought Blaine's boot to get most of the energy out of him. He was ripping around the bathroom being an aggressive scared boy. They got new shower curtains in the bathroom and he tore those up pretty quick lol. Hanging off them going merroooowwwww xP
And now hes a cuddle bug today :D He's got docked ears but I don't know the story about that.

There have been less kitties this past year. There are 2 bald eagles down the road that are nesting and then a snow owl that's been getting at the outdoor feral cats and some of the ones that are usually in the barn. :( Would be good if they only attacked the pigeons in the barn though xD

Kitties take a ride xP yes there are more cats ... like over 20 running around. Most are just dropped off there. Some are feral cats so you hardly see them. The one on the tractor tire is one of the ferals.

I'm surprised this cat is brave enough to stay there. He was nomming on the hay.

Smokey, shes 27 years old. Shes still as healthy as ever, although after the incident with getting caught in the hay bale holder and loosing lots of blood kinda (last winter) made her be a bit 'slower'. Shes starting to show her age.

Another kitty :3

Her goats :P and you can see Oreo the piggy in the door way, she didn't wanna come out it was too cold for her and in there is heated :P

This alpaca's hair do is awesome.

And of course I had to hop on the most quietest horse ever. Whiskey is about 15 years old and was a trail horse. He just stood there while I hugged him xD He's a great horse that I'd trust with any beginner :D He's also the pony my boyfriend learned on xD

Cutey pony :)

And that's what our day consisted of. :P
Hope we'll go out this week again :) I always get tons of photos out there xD
