Christopher Lee sings

Apr 20, 2008 13:40

When I was rummaging in the CD rack of our local library lately, I discovered a very interesting audio book (made in 2006). CD 1 contains poems of Edgar Allan Poe, read by several well-known German actors (and, to my surprise, the top-notch cast includes Christopher Lee! He reads "The Raven" in English, and another poem in perfectly fluent German ( Read more... )

Wow. With that voice I'm not surprised to learn he is a trained opera singer. Cool stuff, White!

Yes, it really is cool, isn't it? To think, he was 84 when the song was recorded! Simply amazing.

Well, that was different! I didn't know Christopher Lee sang! It wasn't too bad, either. :)

I had a good Sunday, and I hope yours is wonderful too (the day's almost over on this side of the world!).

I wish I will be able to sing that lusty at an age of 84! Mr. Lee is a multi-talented and busy man.

Glad you had an enjoyable Sunday, Maewyn. Mine is good, too. Have been out for a nice walk, ate a tasty lunch and now the sun visits us to boot. Lovely.

Oh well, that sounds all so interesting! You made my mouth watery with your review. Alas I have no sound on my computer right now, so I have to wait until I can watch the video and listen to Christopher Lee's sonorous voice.
I just knew he speaks German and some years ago he did any project with some heavy metal or hard rock band (don't ask me further, I'm at best half informed) which must have been very impressing already.
Thank you for your tip! :)

I hope you're getting sound on your PC soon. I had no sound on mine too for quite a time and found it really annoying. There's just too much stuff which makes no sense without sound!

As for Christopher Lee - I read the names of the bands he had worked with, but none of them did ring any bell... I'm so out of the loop, particularly when heavy metal or hard rock is concerned. Hmpf. I'm getting *really* old. ;-)

Ah, I love it! Can't say something else.
I listened to the song on my mama's computer and it's really very impressive done. It reminds me of the time when I secretly watched scary movies in TV as a kid. This was my first thought and then I remembered, 'Ah, right, I'd watched Dracula ...'! ;D

Coo-eee back!!

Thanks so much, dear Estë for looking after me.
I did not mean to disappear from LJ so completely as I did for the last five weeks or so... but RL calls like never before (nothing bad though) and I've been a little sick, too. I'm looking forward to having a bit more free time and mind soon.

I hope you are okay too, my dear!

((((Hugs))))
