When I was rummaging in the CD rack of our local library lately, I discovered a very interesting audio book (made in 2006). CD 1 contains poems of Edgar Allan Poe, read by several well-known German actors (and, to my surprise, the top-notch cast includes Christopher Lee! He reads "The Raven" in English, and another poem in perfectly fluent German

I just knew he speaks German and some years ago he did any project with some heavy metal or hard rock band (don't ask me further, I'm at best half informed) which must have been very impressing already.

As for Christopher Lee - I read the names of the bands he had worked with, but none of them did ring any bell... I'm so out of the loop, particularly when heavy metal or hard rock is concerned. Hmpf. I'm getting *really* old. ;-)

I listened to the song on my mama's computer and it's really very impressive done. It reminds me of the time when I secretly watched scary movies in TV as a kid. This was my first thought and then I remembered, 'Ah, right, I'd watched Dracula ...'! ;D

I did not mean to disappear from LJ so completely as I did for the last five weeks or so... but RL calls like never before (nothing bad though) and I've been a little sick, too. I'm looking forward to having a bit more free time and mind soon.
