Yes, we had a lovely Christmas Day. At the time you posted, it had been over by an hour and 46 minutes!
We're just relaxing today. We've just had lunch of left-over turkey, ham, coleslaw, devilled pasta and green salad. And there's more for tomorrow... :)
Estë, thank you for the good wishes! Blessings to you as well!
The carols (it's a compilation of four different carols) are popular in Germany, but I doubt if they are known elsewhere. The first one is called "Maria durch ein Dornwald ging" ("Maria Walks Amid The Thorn"), picturing Maria as she walks through a forest of thorns which start to bloom roses. I'm always getting teary-eyed when I listen to it.
There is an Italian website on which you can see more details of the gorgeous Pacher altar: http://www.thais.it/speciali/Michele_Pacher/image/001.htm Don't worry, there is an English translation with it. The gold brocade looks to me as if it could be a gilded wood relief; Pacher was wood carver as well, so it could be possible that some parts of the altar are not flat but carved and gilded and painted.

May your coming year be blessed with everything that is good.
I do not recognize the Carol. It was beautifully rendered.
The star-shaped biscuits looked especially delicious.
I'll have to investigate that wonderful painting. The gold brocade (if that is what it is) is very beautiful.
