Part 2

It took him a few days to corner Spock in his quarters. They were due to get a relief ship to their position tomorrow. Jim blocked Spock from his door.

"Sit down."

Spock didn't sigh, but Jim could see how he wanted to as he sat. Jim pulled a chair over and sat in front of him.

"I know we both feel guilty for what we did and didn't do. We need to move on." Jim leaned forward. "Meld with me."

Spock went stock still. "I cannot harm you in that manner, Captain."

"Call me Jim and don't argue about it." Jim cocked his head. "It won't harm me to meld. We already know you don't give me a headache."

With a shake of his head, Spock leaned towards him. "You have been mentally raped in the past. I refuse to perpetuate that upon your mind again."

Jim snorted. "You didn't mentally rape me."

"You attempted to dissolve the meld and I did not immediately allow you to go."

"I was frightened because no one ever hugged me in a meld, Spock. That's all. You definitely didn't rape me." Jim leaned closer. "Meld with me and see."

Spock slowly lifted his hand to Jim's face. "You are certain?"

Jim pressed Spock's fingers to his face. "Do it."

They closed their eyes and Jim felt Spock slip into his mind. The sorrow nearly drowned him until it bled away into astonishment. Jim opened his treasured memories of him and Bones together and pushed his desire to be as close to Spock towards Spock's presence in his mind. Spock wobbled and then came back to embrace Jim as he'd done before. Jim reveled in it, happy that it seemed to lessen the bone deep despair in Spock. He tried to embrace back, but couldn't quite stretch far enough. Spock wiggled in his mental hold and Jim formed an image of Bones holding them down. There was amusement at him and then Spock slid away.

Jim opened his eyes and Spock looked more relaxed than he'd seen him since the hearing back at the Academy. "Better?"

Spock blinked. "I do not understand how inserting a hand into the partner's rectum is mutually satisfactory."

Jim grinned. "You looked at the memory, but ignored the sensations?"

"It appeared far more painful than you remember."

Nodding, Jim took Spock's hand and started rubbing. "It is much less painful than it looks. Bones is always careful and loving."

"You are mated with the Doctor."

Jim kept rubbing as Spock's posture started to relax. "Yes."

Spock blinked slowly. "You are remarkable for retaining the ability to form attachments."

"Thanks, I think." Jim switched to Spock's other hand. "Do you need more than melds from me?"

With another slow blink, Spock turned his hand over in Jim's hold and adjusted it so Jim's rubbing hit a spot that made Spock's eyelids droop. "I would accept whatever you are able to give, Jim."

Jim rubbed both hands at once and smiled as Spock's eyes slid closed. "Could you share me with Bones?"

Spock's eyes snapped open. "I do not understand."

"Sure you do. I love Bones and I'm attached to you in a way that leaves my soul pulsing when you're near me. I need both." He leaned in and spoke softly into Spock's ear. "I want both."

Spock pulled out of his hold. "I will think on your desire, Jim."

Jim left with a smile on his face to go tell Bones how to make a Vulcan purr.

****

Jim braced as Jo slammed into his leg.

"Dada!" She turned her face up towards him. "Dad?"

Jim picked her up and settled her on his hip. "He's coming, Jo-jo. He was right behind me." They turned and she must have spotted him, because she wiggled and squealed. "Wait. Just wait, Jo-jo."

Malcom slipped up to stand beside him. "She got loose the slippery little thing."

Jim hugged Malcom one armed. "Thanks for watching her when the alert came down."

"No problem."

Bones reached them and held his hands out for Jo. "Jo!"

"Dad!" She lunged out of Jim's hold to her father, who swung her around. They hugged each other tight and then Jo was asking questions about their trip. Waiting at the bottom of the ramp was someone Jim thought he should know.

"Captain Kirk?"

Jim nodded. "Yes?"

She smiled and it lit up her green face. "I wanted to thank you for carrying me to the hospital. Without the help of you and your friends the doctor said I would have died." She hugged him and planted a kiss on him as she pulled back. "Thank you."

He blinked as she bounced away. Malcom slipped up beside him. "She was pulled from the wreckage of the fleet. She swears that your voice over the comms is the only thing she remembers."

"She wouldn't have heard me."

Malcom shrugged. "She thinks she did."

He shook his head. Ruth appeared from the crowd. She grabbed him up and hugged him tight. She let him pull away after a few moments.

"You alright?"

He nodded. "You know about Captain Pike?"

She nodded. "I was informed he's expected to never walk again. We'll see, son." She patted his face. "You look good, thin though."

"Bones makes sure I eat."

She frowned at Bones, but then smiled. Jim herded them on.

****

Spock appearing at Bones' door wasn't completely unexpected. Jim let him in and Jo came to peek around the corner of the couch at him.

"Jo-jo come met my friend, Mr. Spock."

Jo came to Jim and tucked herself into his side. "Hi. I'm Jo."

"Hello. I am Spock."

Jim sat her on the other end of the couch from Spock. "I'll get us drinks."

He listened to them as he retreated into the kitchen.

"Are you here to visit Dad?"

"I came to see Jim."

"Why did you come to see Dada? He's been jumpy. Dad says it is because Dada fought a bad man and it reminded him of other bad men." There was a rustle and Jim forced himself to pour fruit juice. "Dada's past is full of bad men. Dad says we have to be careful how we wake Dada so we don't make him think we're bad while he's still asleep."

"I came to see Jim because I find Jim fascinating."

Jim slowed as he put the juice away.

"You can't take Dada from Dad. They come as a unit." There was another rustle. "Will you become my Father? I'd like having three parents."

Jim rounded the corner with his mouth open to tell Jo to quit bugging Spock and found her snuggled into Spock's side. Jim closed his mouth with a snap. He sat the juice on the coffee table.

Jo scooted to the edge of the couch and Jim handed her a glass as he held another out to Spock. Jo took her glass and smiled up at him.

"Dada, will you marry Mr. Spock?"

"Jo-jo, take your juice into your Dad."

"'Kay." She held it out and Jim took it. She wiggled her way off the couch and took it back. She headed down the hallway slowly, watching her glass so she wouldn't spill.

He waited for the bedroom door to shut. "Sorry about that, Spock."

"You need not apologize. She is a most well behaved child."

He smiled. "Thanks." He sipped his drink. "Why are you here, Spock?"

"I would ask to meld with you."

"Again?" Jim sat his drink down. "Okay."

Spock sat his glass down as well. They moved closer and Spock slipped his finger into place. The meld was soft and warm. Jim pushed contentment at Spock, who wrapped him in comfortable waves of emotion. Jim blinked as the meld dissolved.

"Okay?"

Spock stood. "I require your assistance."

With a frown, Jim stood. "Assistance with what?"

"While filtering your memories I found a glimpse of a girl that appeared to match that of the woman who is searching for her daughter."

"Ms. Amberson's daughter? Where? When did I see her?"

Spock lead them from Bones' place and then stopped at the street. "Just prior to your required opening of your mind to the rouge Vulcan who so grievously harmed you."

Jim tried to bring up the night before that last whipping, but it was all a haze of pain and a raging headache. "I don't remember."

Spock nodded. "Humans often repress the memories attached to pain."

Jim headed towards the club. "That was three years ago, she may not still be there. He liked young girls and he had an illness shortly after I serviced him last."

"He did not shield himself from your mind. I theorize that he was harmed by your defensive attack."

Jim blinked. "Huh. Let's go."

They approached the club and rendered a bouncer unconscious before entering. The club was closed in the middle of the day and the girls in the cages were mostly sleeping. They moved through them silently. Spock checked the face of each one and they moved on.

Jim took out another bouncer as they moved down a back hallway. Spock stopped in front of a room and pointed to the door. They entered and Jim just stood and stared.

There were females ranging in age from tiny to young adult. They were silently watching him and Spock. The ones awake poked the ones asleep into wakefulness. Spock moved through them until he came to one young adult.

"Her."

The young woman cringed back in her cage. Jim squatted down in front of her.

"You want to go home?"

She blinked at him and held her throat. "Home?"

It was a whisper, but Jim nodded. "Yes. We need to go now." He turned to tell Spock to find the release to the locks and he wasn't there. Jim frowned, but didn't waste time. He found the mass release and pulled it. The cages all popped open and the girls gathered around him.

"Okay, everyone follow me."

They pulled the frightened ones from their cages and the whole mob followed him back out. He didn't see Spock, but he didn't have time to look as the mob pulled the women from their cages in the main room. They followed him out into the street and he kept moving. As they passed his old corner Ros stared at them and then joined the mob, pulling the other boys with him.

Jim went through the howler's territory because it was the quickest and he watched as several of the howlers joined the mob too. He turned into the alley for Ms. Amberson and pulled a new Bible from the hiding place he hadn't used in several years. He slapped it to the wall and the door popped open. He pulled the woman he thought was Elizabeth inside and the others started crowding in behind him. The inner door slid open and he pushed on through to the large room down the little hallway. Behind him came a flood of people. From the transporter came Ms. Amberson.

"Kirk? I thought you'd gone from the streets."

He hugged her and then pushed her back. "I did, but I came back because I found you something." He took the hand of the woman he thought was the right one and pressed it to the cover of the Bible. There was a flash of light and the Bible started beeping. The necklace around Ms. Amberson's neck started to beep loudly.

Ms. Amberson's hands flew to her mouth and she grabbed up her daughter, who looked at Jim over her mother's shoulder. Jim mimed hugging and Elizabeth hugged her mother back.

Jim left them and started sorting through the huge number of people in the room. Piles of clothing appeared from the transporter and he started convincing girls to get dressed. Several cried because they thought they'd be beaten for dressing.

It was tiresome and after a while Jim turned and nearly ran into Spock, who was covered in green blood.

"Spock!" He tried to check Spock over, but he pulled away and stood stiffly. Jim pulled Spock by his sleeve over to Ros.

"Hey. I need to take him to see Bones. You'll all be okay?"

Ros hugged him. "You fucking saved the world, J. This is small stuff. We'll be fine. Go."

Jim nodded and pulled Spock along. They got back to Bones' place and Bones took one look at Spock and yelled back in towards the kitchen for Jo to go to her room.

"What happened?"

Jim pushed on Spock until he sat on the couch. "We went to the Baron's club because Spock saw Ms. Amberson's daughter in my memory of the place and matched it to another memory." Jim helped Bones pull Spock's shirt off. There were bruises everywhere. "We found a room of females in cages and I turned to ask Spock to help me find a release switch, but he wasn't there. I got busy with getting them out and taking them to Ms. Amberson. I didn't see Spock again until later while I was helping organize them."

Bones stripped Spock's pants off. "You didn't think to, maybe, comm. me?" He checked over Spock's legs and came back up. "He doesn't appear hurt, so where's the blood from?"

"I killed the Vulcan calling himself the Baron." Spock closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "If you would please report my actions to authorizes so that I may be remanded for prosecution." Spock leaned to one side and Jim caught him as he fell over.

"Shit."

Bones held his scanner on Spock. "He looks like he's been in a bad meld. His brain is haywire."

Jim grabbed up Bones' comm. unit. "I'll call for transport."

****

It was several days before the Vulcan healer was willing to allow Spock to wake from the healing trance he'd been put in. During that time Spock had been cleared of any charges and the news had broke that Jim and part of his senior staff had broken a slave ring.

Jim snorted every time he heard it because he technically was still a cadet and didn't have a senior anything. He helped Mrs. Killian test the girls that were up for it. He helped Tella and Ruth talk to the ones that just sat and stared. The Vulcans were upset and had assigned Spock's healer to try to help the girls too.

The healer, T'Pol, found him in a corner trying to coax a tiny girl into eating.

"Please allow me to meld with you."

Jim blinked. "I thought you were supposed to help them."

She smiled in that Vulcan way where her face never moved. "I am. You will please allow me to meld with you."

"Okay." He turned his face up for her and opened his mind wide. She tip toed inside him in a way that no one had ever before. He could feel her everywhere in his mind. He showed her all that he was and silently asked her what was best for him to do with Spock and Bones. She soothed him into stillness. Then the meld was gone.

He blinked several times and she cupped his chin gently.

"Triads are nearly a thing of legend. It is fitting for Spock to be the first in several thousand years to find a double bond." She touched him on the forehead and ghosted her fingers down his face and neck. "You have my blessing, James T. Kirk."

He sat down and the little girl he'd been trying to get to eat held out her food to him. He took a bite and handed it back as he felt around inside his head trying to work out what she had touched.

****

Leonard was trying to lessen a horrible scar in the mouth of one of the older young women when the Vulcan healer appeared at his elbow. He didn't jump by sheer force of will. "Damnit woman." He finished and let the young woman scurry away before turning to T'Pol.

"You will allow me to meld with you."

"That wasn't even a request." He threw his regen unit into his bag. "I get that you're some high ranking somebody to the Vulcans, but I'm busy. Come back later."

"It is for James' welfare."

Leonard froze. He turned and narrowed his eyes at her. "You lying?"

"I am not."

He tried not to cringe as she settled her fingers on his face. She slipped into his mind so carefully at he just about couldn't tell she was there. There was a whisper to relax and he tired to as she pulled at something in his middle. The meld slid away and Leonard opened his eyes.

"What'd you do?"

T'Pol bowed slightly to him. "I give you my blessing, Leonard H. McCoy." She turned and started to walk away.

"Blessing? For what?" He hurried after her and followed her clear into Spock's room. She settled on a stool near him and Leonard stopped at the foot of the bed. "For what?"

She glanced up at him as she settled her fingers onto Spock's face. "You will understand shortly." Then she closed her eyes and melded with Spock.

Leonard frowned down at them until Jim appeared in the doorway.

"What's she doing?"

"I don't know." Leonard sat with Jim on the small couch against the wall. The blankets from where Jim had been sleeping there the night before were still at one end.

T'Pol pulled away from Spock's face and they waited. Spock opened his eyes and stared at T'Pol.

"You have bonded me?"

"Indeed. I know they will do you considerable good."

"They?" Spock blinked and then closed his eyes. His eyebrows furrowed and he snapped his eyes open.

T'Pol turned to them. "You will arrange for the child of Leonard's to be brought here." She turned back and all but shoved Spock back down onto the bed. "You will rest."

They all watched her sweep from the room. Jim took her stool by Spock's side.

"She's scary, for a Vulcan, Spock."

The skin around Spock's eyes tightened. "Indeed." He looked at them both. "The bond she has formed can be broken if either of you wishes it."

Jim turned to him and Leonard shrugged. "You want it?"

Spock looked down at his hands. "I admit to calculating the effectiveness of a tri-bond against that of the arrangement that was forming."

Leonard felt a hesitant brush at the back of his mind. He grasped it gently and tugged as best he could. Spock's head came up and he held out a hand to Leonard. Jim reached over and they touched their first and second fingers together.

Jim had the look he got when they kissed and that's when it dawned on Leonard they'd done just that. He put his hand out and brought his fingers to Spock's. In the back of his mind affection blossomed.

"Oh."

Jim grinned at him. "Felt good didn't it?"

"Yeah." Leonard fished for his comm. unit. "I'll call Ruth to bring Jo."

Jim leaned against Spock and smiled up at Leonard. "Just think, hands are sensitive for Vulcans. Spock thinks fisting is erotic."

Leonard yelped and left the room before Ruth could hear more.

****

Jo climbed onto Spock's bed and watched the old Vulcan lady settle onto the stool next to the bed. "Spock gets to be my Father?"

"Spock being your parent is acceptable to you?"

Jo nodded. "I love having two. One more will make it even better." Jo leaned forward. "Did Father really kill the bad man that gave Dada his nightmares?"

T'Pol glanced at Jim, who nodded. She turned back to Jo. "Yes, he did."

"Good." Jo turned to Spock and lay on his chest. "Thank you."

Spock looked a little stunned. Jo pulled back and looked at T'Pol expectantly.

"You will allow me to help you form a parental bond with Spock so that he is your father in Vulcan terms?"

Jo sat up. "Yes, but I want you to do T'Eila too."

They all looked at her. Jim came to the edge of the bed and knelt down. "Who's T'Eila?"

Jo slipped off the bed and grabbed Jim's hand. He followed Jo through the wing of the building Ms. Amberson had given for the girls to be housed in until they came to a tiny girl in a corner, her dirty hair hanging in her face.

Jim didn't know her, which was odd because he thought he'd met them all. Jo squatted down in front of the girl.

"Dada says to come with me and talk to the big Vulcan lady."

The girl shook her little head and her hair went flying. Jim edged closer. Behind him T'Pol watched. Jo took the little girl's hand.

"Please, T'Eila? Dada and Dad get to have Father and Dad said that the Vulcan lady is going to attach my mind to Father so I'll know he loves me even though he can't show it." She tugged on the tiny hand. "Don't you want to be loved too?"

Jim stayed out of the way as the little girl stood and was lead by Jo over to T'Pol.

"Child."

T'Eila let go of Jo's hand. "Will he strip my mind?"

"He will not." T'Pol bent down and picked up the girl. "You will meet him and decide."

****

Bones pushed him down onto their bed. "We need a bigger bed."

Jim smiled up at him as they stripped. "We need to move to the ship. It'll be easier in the long run."

They kissed as they waited for Spock to come from the bathroom. Jim pulled back.

"We have another daughter, Bones."

"I know." Bones slipped his hand down Jim's body. "You need to quit having kids."

"Hey. She's not even mine biologically." He sighed as Bones fondled his balls. Spock made the bed dip as he sat on the edge. Jim ran his hand across the small of Spock's back. "Hi, Spock."

Spock looked at them and Bones pulled him down with them.

"We need a much bigger bed."

"I have requested larger quarters with separate attached rooms for the children."

Jim hugged Spock to him and Bones pressed up against Spock from the other side. "That's great, Spock."

Bones pulled back. "Want to fist Jim?"

Spock was nearly panting as Jim rubbed his fingers across Spock's cool skin. "I would find that activity to be most rewarding."

Bones grinned. "You ever try dildos?"

Jim laughed at the bewildered look on Spock's face. He kept laughing through Bones lubing him up and finding the lumpy dildo with the thigh harness. He gasped as he slid down onto it as he straddled Spock's thigh.

Spock was watching him and Bones was helping him bounce with his hands wrapped around Jim's waist. It was good, splitting him wide and the bumps pushing in all the good spots. Spock gripped his face and Jim sighed as the sensations from Spock overlaid his own. He took Spock's other hand to where the dildo slid into him and pressed Spock's fingers in alongside.

"Jim." Spock leaned forward and nipped at Jim's neck.

Bones mouthed the back of Jim's neck as he ran his fingers up and down Spock's side.

Jim reveled in the feelings as they kept fucking him with the dildo. Then Bones was pulling him off. They settled him onto Spock's cock and then Bones was pressing into him from behind.

Spock moaned and pulled Jim tighter to him as Bones slid in alongside Spock. Jim could feel them both and he sucked on Spock's collarbone as they worked out a rhythm. They fucked him long and hard. Jim grunted with each thrust as they took him together.

Bones pressed deep and came hard. Spock's stokes started to stutter into little jabs and Jim pulled off him. With Bones' help they spread Spock's legs and Jim thrust into him with slicked fingers. It took him some time to figure out where Spock's prostate was, but when he found it, Spock quivered and Jim shared a grin with Bones.

He pulled out and lined up with his cock. Spock opened his eyes when Bones took the fingers of Spock's left hand into his mouth as Jim thrust into him. Spock gasped and arched up. Jim set a fast pace, fucking Spock as hard as he could. He shifted to get a better angle and the bond exploded with feeling as he brushed something inside Spock further in from his prostate.

He made sure to hit it again and Spock started stroke himself. Bones sucked hard at his fingers and Spock stilled, coming for several long moments. Jim kept fucking until Spock's clenching started to make him ache. Then he let go and came deep in Spock's ass.

He flopped down with Spock as Bones cleaned them up. Spock tried to get up to help, but Jim held him down. "Let him do it. He likes cleaning up."

Spock turned into him and nuzzled his neck. "I find inserting my digits into your rectum most arousing."

Jim kissed the side of Spock's head. "I like it too."

Bones came back from the bathroom and flopped down on the other side of Spock. "The kids are asleep." He snuggled into Spock's side. "Jim's ceremony is in the morning."

Jim drifted off to the sounds of Spock and Bones arguing about what to do with the kids tomorrow.

****

T'Eila watched the adults around her as the alert started wailing. She slipped into the nearest vent and waited. The alert went off, but T'Eila didn't move. Jo came and sat with her.

"You were supposed to go to the special pod."

"I do not like the enclosed space."

Jo cocked her head. "The vent is enclosed."

"The vent leads to another place."

"Ah." Jo stood as their Father approached. "Her logic doesn't make sense to me."

"Perhaps your Dad will be able to explain."

Jo hugged Spock's knee and ran off. Spock knelt down and peered at her.

"T'Eila."

She crawled out and stood in front of her Father. "Father."

"Please explain your logic in hiding in this vent instead of reporting to your correct pod assignment."

She looked at her toes. "It encloses me."

"Ah." Father reached for her and picked her up. She wanted to squirm because her year-mates that joined in her tele-classes insisted that touching was bad. She held still because she loved when Father held her close. Her telepathy worked better this way and she could feel his love for her.

"You find it reminds you of a cage."

She nodded and Father carried her through the ship. She held still as Father sat her down in front of her assigned pod.

"Your Dada finds pods traumatic as well." Spock touched the edge of the door and she echoed him.

"Dada is brave and I am not."

Father's eyebrows drew together. "You are very brave. May I show you when you have been brave in the past?" He held his hand out towards her face.

She pressed her lips together and nodded. He slipped his fingers to her face and they were looking through her eyes as she was let down from T'Pol's arms to Father's bedside for the first time and then when she pressed Dada's shot into his neck as no one else was there for that allergic reaction. Father showed her the first time she'd ventured onto the bridge without an adult to hide behind. When she'd started speaking to the adults that were not her fathers. She pulled back and the meld dissolved.

"You understand now, T'Eila?"

She nodded and stepped into the pod. She held her breathe until Father reached in and lifted her back out.

"It will become easier."

She hid her face against his shoulder and let him carry her to her other fathers.

****

Jim watched their children sleep as Bones rubbed Spock's shoulders. "It went pretty well considering."

Bones touched T'Eila as she muttered in her sleep. "She scared the crap out of everyone. Jo was in tears."

"She felt the pod was like the cage she had been held in."

Bones grimaced. "Shit." He ran his fingertips down her side. "No wonder."

Jim let Jo wrap around his leg. "They did good regardless."

Spock draped himself against Jim's back. "Indeed."

Bones picked up Jo and headed to her room. He came back and picked up T'Eila. That took longer and Bones came back looking exhausted.

"Do all Vulcan kids cling so damn tight like she can?"

Spock pulled Bones down between them. "She is not an average Vulcan child."

Jim patted them. "She'll grow out of it. By the time she grows up only the people she tells will know what happened to her."

****

T'Eila gripped the hand of her Father as the transporter engaged. They appeared in the garden of the Queen's estate. She looked around curiously as she kept hold of her Father's hand. She didn't like the way these people pressed on her mental shielding. Father and Dada had assured her that they would make sure the Queen's people could not harm her.

This was evidenced by the full security detail surrounding their position. She tugged on Father's hand.

"We will meet her now?"

Father looked down at her. "She will come to us and once she has been assured that you are my daughter then the negotiations will continue."

She nodded because Dad and Dada had explained it to her before Father appeared to retrieve her. Dad had been holding her robes so she could more efficiently dress as Dada explained and had given her a tiny phaser which he said to only use if she had to and Dad had glared at him for it.

She fingered her phaser inside the pocket of her robe as the Queen approached with her escort. Father and the Queen exchanged greetings and the guard behind the Queen appeared nervous, which she could see was making their guards nervous.

Father's hand on her tightened and she ducked into his side as the shooting started. She could see it was coming from the beyond the Queen's guard. Father pulled her towards a pillar and they took cover as Father attempted to contact the ship.

The attackers threw several small round objects towards their position. Father pulled her close so she only heard the click and hiss. The air became horrible and Father fell away.

T'Eila fell as the last of the security detail reached for her.

****

T'Eila rolled over and frowned as the tiny phaser pressed into her stomach. Sitting up she found herself in a large cage. Trying to remain calm, she backed into a corner of the cage and assessed the situation as Father said was most efficient.

Her conclusion was grim. There were too many adults to render them all unconscious before they took her weapon and too many cages with children to assume they had taken her for ransom.

The cage that backed hers held a small boy who appeared human. He was backed into a corner and holding his temples as though his head hurt.

"Excuse me." She glanced at the adults, but none seemed inclined to tell her to be quiet. "Boy."

The child finally looked at her. He blinked and crawled to their shared cage wall. "Who are you?"

"I am T'Eila. Who are you?"

"Yaern Troi." The boy touched his head. "Are they hurting you too?"

She shook her head. "They have only stolen me from my family who will be searching for me."

"Oh. They've been collecting telepaths. I'm Betazoid." Yaern pointed to several others that were laying still in their cages. "They're hurt."

"How long have you been here?"

Yaern rubbed his head. "I don't know for sure. Maybe two days?" He frowned. "They killed my family and took me. The shock of the loss of my links to my family is making my head hurt."

T'Eila checked her bond to her parents and found it still intact, but faint. They must be moving away. She needed to inform at least one of her fathers of her direction if not her location. "My bonds are still intact."

With a blink, Yaern leaned towards her. "You're the first Vulcan I've seen here. Can you tell your family where we are?"

"Vulcans are touch telepaths. I do not believe I can reach them on my own."

Yaern bit his lip and glanced at the adults at the other end of the room. "Could you if I boosted you?"

"Would that not harm you?" Father had always said that attempting to reach further than normal was very dangerous and if Yaern was already injured it would be even more dangerous.

"I'd rather die than stay here." He made an expression not unlike Dada's when he wanted something. "Please?"

She nodded. "Alright." She reached through the cage and touched his face. "I will try not to harm you." She concentrated on melding and suddenly she had a beautiful landscape around her. She turned and he was glowing.

/You are emitting light./

He looked down at himself. /Oh!/ The glow diminished. /Ready?/

She took his hands and reached. She tried following the trail the bond made, but it was twisting so she pushed straight in the direction it seemed headed. She felt a familiar mind and dove for it. She stopped when she reached it.

/You are not Father./

The mental presence cupped her and by extension Yaern. /T'Eila?/

/I'm trying to find Father. You are, but aren't Father./ She was close to tears. The boy was frantic and she needed help now. /I've been stolen./

The presence firmed up and now she felt T'Pol as well. She had overreached. She tried to pull away to find Father, but they held her fast.

/Calm, T'Eila. Let us see where you are./

She tried to, but Yaern was screaming in the background and she was losing herself. /Help!/

Not-Father came with her as she retreated to her body. She opened her eyes to the adults coming towards them, tripping over each other as they tried to fit down the narrow aisle. She pulled her tiny phaser and shot. Beside her Yaern was on the floor of his cage, bleeding from his nose.

Grimly she shot each adult as they attempted to advance on her position. They lobed one of the little gas balls at her so she shot it before it could click. Her arms were heavy. She wiped at something on her face and came away with blood.

She got angry looking at her blood on her sleeve. She used her phaser to melt the lock on her cage and began freeing all the children. The few that were capable of movement she sent to disarm the adults.

She checked that there was only the one door. She melted the lock on it to hold it shut. Then with the help of one of the bigger children she pried open a vent cover and with some work they got all the children in. She pulled the cover back into place and then pulled Yaern into her lap. He was still breathing, but when she tried to find him to meld she was met with an empty void. Ignoring the other children she held Yaern and waited for her fathers to come.

Bones frowned at the readings from the biobed that held T'Eila and the boy she refused to allow away from her. He went around the corner and found Spock putting on scrubs. "What do you think you're doing?"

"You have stated that T'Eila has not allowed anyone to remove the boy from her side and that the boy appears to be Betazoid. It is only logical that they have formed a bond and I will examine it to ascertain whether the bond is stable."

"You'll sit your skinny ass back down, is what you'll fucking do!" He shoved on Spock's shoulder. The effects of the knockout gas were still there enough Spock wobbled and sat. "I get that she just did something Vulcans consider impossible. I get that you're all upset that she reached the old guy instead of you, but you know from what Jim said about their meld I think you grow in power as you age. And to her little mind it looked right and sounded right so she went to it."

"Vulcans do not normally gain in mental power as they age." Spock sat on the edge of the bed. "He should not have been able to follow her back and tell where her position was in normal space."

Leonard patted Spock's hand and shoved love at the bond until Spock blinked. "You do the impossible why shouldn't he?"
