Oh yes. I have been waiting neigh on three f'n years to see this movie. The rumours, the hype, the expectations... finally, I have had the chance. I am of course talking about Bubba Ho-Tep. But was it what I expected? Damn fucking right, it was ( Read more... )

It was overrated. I bought it a while ago, it was rental funny, but not worth the $25. It was pretty slow-paced and it seemed kind of flat. Funny premise and definitely some good moments, but it's not the amazing movie everyone chats it up to be.

Heh, I can always count on ya to disagree.

Well, I loved it. The slower pace was appropriate to the type of movie it was. But it really isn't what I'd consider to be excessively slow... it practically whizzes by compared to a lot of the japanese movies I've seen.

It's not conventional nor even remotely mainstream... but it worked for me.

I just bought this on Sunday but haven't yet watched it. I'm waiting for a time when I am not disctracted by work. Also grabbed Final Destination for $10 because it was widescreen and had lotsa commentary. Yay!

Good call... you really need to sit back and prepare yourself, it's not the sort of film that you can sneak a quick hour and a half to watch - you need to be relaxed and focused. It's absolutely nothing of what I expected, but I loved it. And there's a nice Campbell/Coscarelli Commentary. (too many c's)

Y'know, I haven't actually seen the first Final Destination yet. But I did enjoy the second. I really should check it out sometime.

Final Destination is better than the sequel. It's one of those movies I watch every time I see it on television. So happy the dvd was so cheap!!! The sequel is pretty decent also. I was surprised I liked it.

i agree, once again, with everything you've just said. except for the part about the movie not being for everyone.... because if those people exist, i'm perfectly content to live in denial that i share similar dna to such beasts.

have you watched the movie with the commentary by "elvis?" almost better than the movie. seriously.

Sadly, such people may actually be among us. I don't understand it, but it may be so.

I've been saving the Elvis commentary for a special occasion, since I know how much its going to rule. It's extremely hard to resist, but I know won't hold out for much longer... bruce campbell commentaries are always blue chippers.
