The ficverse is based on the following what-if:
What if Katara and Sokka hadn't broken Aang out of the iceberg? What if Gran-Gran and Uncle Iroh had ... sixty years earlier?
-cast of characters-
1. Aang, as he appears in canon. Except without the S1E2 impetus to reveal his identity, he's still invested in hiding it.
2. Kana, age sixteen. A no-nonsense girl, the voice of reason and keeper of the first-aid kit. She has feminist tendencies and doesn't brook well with the "immortality of youth" mindset she'll be seeing so much of. She has a strong sense of self and is smart in a logical kind of way. She left home to remain true to this self, and later kayacked right into the iceberg in which Aang was entombed and on which Iroh was floating.
3. Iroh, age fifteen. A gregarious, arrogant, firebending prodigy who's out to see exactly hoe much he can get away with. More tactician than strategist, Iroh also lacks common sense in a big way. He's never seen battle, but was on his way to his first deployment when he commandeered a lifeboat on a whim. And sunk the lifeboat. And wound up floating on an iceberg for a few days.
