"I want to go camping in the woods for my eighth birthday," Morgan announced over his scone. "Will you take me, Dad?"
Sophie agreed, "I think it's a wonderful idea. Some real fresh air will do you both a world of good. Especially you, Howl."
And that settled it. They always ganged up on him like this. It really wasn't fair. Howl snapped his bacon in two and asked, "Is there any specific place you'd like to go camping? 'The woods' is quite generic, after all."
"Yep," Morgan said. Crumbs flew out of his mouth. "Utah!"
"Utah," repeated Howl.
"Utah?" asked Sophie.
"Utah," said Morgan. "I found it in one of Dad's books! It's fun to say: Utah!"
Sophie asided, "Where is 'Utah,' Howl?"

Morgan scratched at his arm and watched his father.
"We're going to diiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeee!" Dad breathed, twisting up his face and scrunching up his nose and gesturing broadly from his sleeping bag.
"WE'RE GOING TO DIE!" he repeated loudly, pointing at the red welty patch of skin on his forearm. "LEP-RO-SY!"
"Almost," said Dad, "You could benefit from a smidgen more failing, in my most humble opinion." After a moment, he added, "The leprosy bit was a nice touch, though."
Morgan grinned. He liked camping.
