BODY & APPEARANCE.

⒈ Describe the character's height and build. Is she heavyset, thin, short, rangy?

About 5'2"/158 cm. She's on the skinnier side and doesn't have a lot of curves if we go by her official art. She's possibly still growing, but right now she doesn't really have a particularly womanly figure. Her bust is pretty small too.
⒉ How old is she?

She recently turned 16.
⒊ Describe her posture. Does she carry himself well or does she slouch?

She slouches a little after a day of walking or if she's just really tired. Otherwise she generally keeps her posture correct, but it's not super tense or like she's in the military or anything.
⒋ How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?

She rarely gets sick aside from maybe catching a cold three times a year. Given how much she travels, I'd say she's pretty fit. She doesn't have giant muscles to show, but all that walking and bicycling keeps her from getting out of shape.
⒌ How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?

She tends to be quick and fluid, though she gets a little tense if she's nervous. She's fairly confident and determined when she walks, but she doesn't act all haughty and better-than-you.
⒍ How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive himself in the mirror?

She doesn't look bad, at least! Like the other protagonists in the series, she's cute. She's not a model but she does have the cute. How do I even word this... How she perceives herself sort of depends on how she feels. Sometimes it's "Lookin' good today" and sometimes she wishes she had a larger chest or she's thinking about whether she should chop off that ponytail or not but she always decides against it because she'd kind of look like a dude without it.
⒎ Describe her complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?

On the light side, though she acquire a tan during the summer months. Then it pales during the winter. She has some bruises and scars on her legs because traveling is serious business and she doesn't really dress for hiking in the mountains. While most of the scars are fading (she got the majority of them during the start of her journey when she was still inexperienced), they're still noticeable if you look at her legs long enough. One of her recent marks can be found just above her left ankle, caused by a particularly angry Deino in Victory Road. Those teeth went right through her shoes.
⒏ Describe her hair: color, texture, style.

Brown. It's pretty thick with most of it tied in a ponytail. It completely frizzes out whenever it rains, much to her dismay.
⒐ What color are her eyes?

Light blue.
⒑ Does the character have any other noteworthy features?

Her ponytail has two strands of hair sticking up like a pair of antennae. If you cut them off, two other strands would probably rise the following day.
⒒ What are her chief tension centers?

Probably her shoulders.
⒓ What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does she have six of the same suit?

Casual. She likes to pair up colours with white or black, like her blue shorts going with a white shirt. She's actually quite picky with what she wears but she doesn't bother with the latest trends or fashion. She wears what she thinks look good on her and is comfortable.
⒔ Do her clothes fit well? Does she seem comfortable in them?

Yep, and yep. If she wasn't comfortable in them, she wouldn't wear them.
⒕ Does she dress the same on the job as she does in his free time? If not, what are the differences?

She doesn't have a job unless being a trainer counts. She tends to sport the same kind of clothes all the time, because she doesn't carry more than a few sets with her in her bag at a time. Her hammerspace is reserved for more important things. Oh, and in case you were wondering - she goes to a laundromat whenever she is in town.
⒖ You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?

Panties. They're pink with some cutesy pattern like Hello Skitty.
❀ ❀ ❀
SPEECH.

⒈What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?

I suck at describing voices, but her voice is medium for a female teenager? It gets higher (and a bit annoying to listen to), when she's excited or upset.
⒉ How does she normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does she talk easily, or does she hesitate?

Her default is evenly without hesitation, though she can stutter if she's nervous sometimes. Aside from the raise in pitch, her getting particularly excited can result in her talking faster. If she has a lot she wants to say, she's prone to doing so without stopping until she runs out of breath.
⒊ Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?

She's got a bit of a southern Unovian dialectsince that's where she grew up. What southern Unovian sounds like, I have no idea. She uses 'totally', 'you know' and stuff like that, but it's not really a verbal tic. She also sometimes starts her sentences with 'um', but it's kind of a filler when she needs an extra second to decide on how the rest of the sentence should go.
⒋ What language/s does she speak, and with how much fluency?

The Unovian language! Allow me to go into headcanon here. The regions in generation I-IV are not some conglomerate where everyone speaks the same language, but they are mutually intelligible to an extent. Kantonian and Johtoan barely have any differences at all, while the languages of Hoenn and Sinnoh have more differences. It's kind of like Swedish, Norwegian and Danish (though not necessarily those specific languages, just a few real world examples). Unovian possibly has its roots in one of these languages, but they've evolved differently in different locations to the modern languages.

Hilda speaks fluent Unovian since it's her first language, but she probably knows some Kantonian or whatever the standard second language they learn happens to be.
⒌ Does she switch languages or dialects in certain situations?

Nope!
⒍ Is she a good impromptu speaker, or does she have to think about her words?

Mostly the former, though sometimes she'll have to think if she wants to say something super clever.
⒎ Is she eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?

I guess it'd depend on the subject? If she knows a lot about it, she'd probably express herself pretty clearly even if she doesn't use poetic or elegant words. As long as she can get her point across and is understood, she's fine.

❀ ❀ ❀
MENTAL & EMOTIONAL.

⒈ How intelligent is this character? Is she book-smart or street-smart?

She has a good head on her shoulders and common sense. She knows how to survive in the wilderness but her skills in school subjects are passable at best. She knows basic math and that kind of stuff, but nothing insanely complicated. She's not too keen on studying and cramming textbook facts and is more naturally inclined to learn things by trying them out instead of reading about them!
⒉ Does she think on his feet, or does she need time to deliberate?

Most of the time, the former. You have to think fast in Pokémon battles so she's very used to having to do so - and while she isn't completely averse to sitting down and planning things out carefully, she definitely prefers doing things right away. A plan is good to fall back on, but she wants room to improvise along the way instead of having everything set in stone.
⒊ Describe the character's thought process. Is she more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?

She won't necessarily do whatever her heart tells her to, but she does perceive situations that way instead of operating on objective logic and such. She feels, she thinks, and if what her instinct tells her is sensible, she listens to it. Her views are ideal, and she believes that good outcomes happen and she always hopes for it. She can see silver linings in most things. But it doesn't mean she thinks they always happen or that she can't be more practical about things or make compromises.
⒋ What kind of education has the character had?

LOL EDUCATION IN POKÉMON. In all seriousness, I believe they have some form of educational system. I know they only show one school, but I think it just happens to be a more well known and big one. They supposedly have colleges and those sure aren't present.

Does it look like this kid came from that trainer school in Violet? A trainer school should logically have Pokémon as a subject in their curriculum.

My personal headcanon is that people go to school but they drop out shortly before they go on their journey. Since most jobs will inevitably involve Pokémon in one way or another, it makes sense for the kids to get some actual experience instead of sitting in a classroom. After a few years, most people decide to return and continue studying so they can pursue a career.

She went to school until she was 14-ish and then dropped out. That, or she was home schooled. Education in Pokéverse, how does it work?
⒌ What are her areas of expertise? What, if anything, is she interested in learning more about?

Pokémon, obviously. When it comes to dem poglemans, she's skilled. She's always interested in learning more and growing as a trainer. She's also very interested in learning more about the other regions. And there's the different legends and history of Unova. Actually owning one of the dragons kind of lends credibility to the stories, so she's very curious.
⒍ Is she an introvert or an extrovert?

Extrovert. She thinks the former means shy. :|a
⒎ Describe the character's temperament. Is she even-tempered or does she have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?

Usually cheerful, but she can get pretty irritated and take things personally. She'd punch you in the shoulder if you call her short, and then bounce right back to her upbeat attitude once she's got it out of her system. Life's too short to be angry forever and hold grudges, you know! In serious situations or when Austin is freaking out over his fear of heights and wants to hold her hand, she does her best to stay calm and focused because that's when it's the most important.

Whether she'd driven or laid-back depends on what she's doing or it's a mix of both.

⒏ How does she respond to new people or situations? Is she suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?

Unless you're very obviously a douchebag, she's not suspicious of new people. She's enthusiastic and eager to learn more about people.
⒐ Is she more likely to act, or to react?

Act. She doesn't want to stand by and do nothing.
⒑ Which is her default: fight or flight?

Fight fight fight. She'd only flee if it was the only way. Like, if her Pokémon are at risk of being seriously injured, she'd rather try to slip away. But she wouldn't flee if, say, Unova was at risk of being destroyed or something.
⒒ Describe the character's sense of humor. Does she appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?

She loves jokes, good puns in particular. Dark humor makes her a little uncomfortable. Sometimes she'll laugh at the dumbest jokes (Why do hipsters use ground type pokémon? Because they prefer things that are underground!). She likes to tell jokes and enjoys a good-natured prank or two.
⒓ Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does she deal with them?

Nope.
⒔ What moments in this character's life have defined her as a person?

❀ Meeting Cheren and Bianca.
❀ Her father leaving on a mid-life crisis journey.
❀ Receiving her first Pokémon.
❀ Catching Zekrom, taking down Team Plasma and saving the entire Unova region.
⒕ What does she fear?

Losing her Pokémon somehow - death, theft, whatever. She fought her way through the Plasma Grunts but she's always had that one "What if I lose this time?" thought in the back of her mind, gnawing at her. Every time she ran into another grunt, that feeling conflicted with her optimism. This also ties with a fear of failing and being a disappointment to others. She does her best, but what if it isn't enough?

On a more superficial level, running out of tampons and being miles away from the nearest town because that would be embarassing and really gross. :|
⒖ What are her hopes or aspirations?

Her goal of defeating Team Plasma has been achieved and she doesn't really think about those things. She's picked up the habit of living in the moment and not think about the future because she's happy with the way things are right now. She'd very much like to go to Hoenn at some point as well as catching that Thundurus sometime, though.
⒗ What is something she doesn't want anyone to find out about her?

How much she worries about not being the hero she's supposed to be with those heroic admirable traits and all that jazz. She doesn't want people to be disappointed in her.
❀ ❀ ❀
RELATIONSHIPS.

⒈ Describe this character's relationship with her parents.

Her mom and dad had a happily married life until Hilda was twelve years old. Then her father hit some mid-life crisis and felt like he'd absolutely had to go reexperience a journey, so he left to find himself and his purpose in life. Hilda eagerly waits for him to come back (he said he will), but contact has been somewhat scarce. She misses him a lot but feels a little resentful since he left mom. At the same time, a part of her wants to find him and drag him home.

Mom is awesome. Her stories about being a trainer in the wide world is what made Hilda want to be a trainer in the first place. She's very supportive of her daughter an in return, she wants to make her really proud.
⒉ Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?

She's the only kid in the family..
⒊ Are there other blood relatives to whom she is close? Are there ones she can't stand?

She has a few cousins and she gets along with them, but they don't visit often enough to be considered close.
⒋ Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of her family? What are her relationships with them?

Cheren and Bianca are both pretty much honorary family members.
⒌ Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?

Cheren and Bianca, obviously. They probably met because their parents wanted introduced them so they could be playmates.
⒍ Does she have other close friends?

Hilbert! They met by chance at the Battle Subway and they always do the double battles together because they make such a good team. Recently, they started hanging out after a round at the Subway, going out for ice cream or just chatting.
⒎ Does she make friends easily, or does she have trouble getting along with people?

Very easily!
⒏ Which does she consider more important: family or friends?

Her friends are family to her, she really doesn't like making a distinction.
⒐ Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has she been married more than once?

Single.
⒑ Is she currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?

Lol no.
⒒ Who was her first crush? Who is her latest?

Her first was probably Cheren because of his smarts and coolness. It was pretty brief though. After starting her journey, she had one on Burgh up until she went through his gym and her clothes were ruined by honey.
⒓ What does she look for in a romantic partner?

Not gonna lie, she probably dreams about a handsome prince riding on a Rapidash. She wants someone cute, charming, witty and smart. In other words, the perfect prince (Rapidash not optional). A girl's allowed to dream, okay. But if no Edward Cullen prince shows up, she'd like up like a guy with a sense of humour and who likes adventures. No cranky stick-in-the mud who thinks she's a delicate flower, please. She can take care of herself just fine. She wants someone she can travel with and have wacky hijinks with.
⒔ Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does she relate to them? If no, does she want any?

She's 16 and has no children. She thinks they generally are cute and would like to have her own (a girl and a boy) sometime in the future. Not in the near future but one day.
⒕ Does she have any rivals or enemies?

Cheren liked to show up and battle her as soon as she got a new badge, so they're rivals. They're friends but they're competitive in a way that makes both of them grow stronger. Team Plasma was the enemy up until she defeated them.
⒖ What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does she fall on the Kinsey scale?

Probably 0 or 1.
⒗ How does she feel about sex? How important is it to her?

Hilda is a virgin. However, she's kind of curious about it and she masturbates so she isn't an ~*innocent flower*~. She'd like to try it sometime, but she wouldn't jump the nearest guy.
⒘ What are her turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?

She hogs the blanket or may spontaneously start a pillow war!!

... What, those are bedroom habits.
❀ ❀ ❀

BELIEFS.

⒈ Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does she fit type?

My headcanon says she's a Gemini, born on June 19th - I mainly picked it because of the duality of the sign which fits the ying/yang aspect of Black&White.

Gemini people are many sided, quick both in the mind and physically. They are brimming with energy and vitality, they are clever with words. They are intelligent and very adaptable to every situation and every person. Gemini are curious and always want to know what's going on in the world around them. They are not one to sit back and watch the world go by, they want to be involved. This can sometimes make Gemini nosy, they do not mind their own business!
- from this site

Gemini are independent, love freedom and are described as curious about the world around them. This fits Hilda pretty well. They're also described as being prone to mood swings and an inconsistent temperament, which fits depending on how you look at it? She can get annoyed and frustrated at minor things, but she cools off pretty quickly so said mood swings are pretty mild.

⒉ Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in her life?

Whatever the religion in the Pokémon world is, she isn't particularly devoted to it. After catching Zekrom, she's believed more in the mythological stories and legends but she doesn't worship anything. She believes in souls and that some kind of being created the universe, but that the stories don't have to be 100% true because they change over time and there's room for interpreting things differently.
⒊ Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?

She learned what's okay and what isn't from her parents and from reading comics, probably. Theft and injuring people/Pokémon without a very good reason (such as self defense) is not okay in her book, for example.

She broke them once by stealing the Rare Candy in N's toy room. She can't justify why she did it, she just saw it and... picked it up. It seemed like a good idea at the time, for whatever reason.
⒋ How does she regard beliefs that differ from his? Is she tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?

Depends on the kind of belief. If someone believes that Pokémon are slaves rather than partners, she'd chew them out about it and generally be intolerant. Or that women are worth less than men - that kind of stuff in general. Otherwise she'd be curious and interesting in getting to know more.

⒌ What prejudices does she hold? Are they irrational or does she have a good reason for them?

If you treat Pokémon badly, she will judge you so hard.
❀ ❀ ❀
DAILY LIFE.

⒈ What is the character's financial situation? Is she rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?

Comfortable. She's a trainer and her income is mainly from battles and selling off the valuable junk she comes across. I don't think anyone in the Pokémon world shells out huge amounts of money upon losing a battle except the rich people (think 100 Pokécurrency = 1 USD, possibly slightly less). Hilda earns enough to get by as a trainer without having to worry about it, but she'd have to save up for ages if she wanted to buy a house or something.
⒉ What is her social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected her?

She went from being an average girl from a rural town to a hero. She's got all the gym badges and she saved Unova, so she's pretty famous by now. She's still a little giddy about it but she's becoming increasingly concerned about how a hero should be.
⒊ Where does she live? House, apartment, trailer? Is her home her castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does she share it with others?

Most of the time, she sleeps in a tent or when it's warm enough and isn't raining, under the open skies so she can look up at the stars. She is a sucker for proper beds and access to hot showers so she gets a hotel/motel room whenever she's in town. She's not too picky with her rooms, but being able to watch TV is always a good thing. Her secret pleasure is to watch Unova's Next Top Model.
⒋ Besides the basic necessities, what does she spend his money on?

Her Pokémon, obviously. A large portion of her money goes to healing items, treats and other nice things to them. The rest usually goes to paying for hotel rooms and various kinds of entertainment when she's in town. If they're showing an interesting movie and she has money to spare, she'll go see it. If there's an arcade, she'll spend a handful of coins on PacMon or if there's a Go Kart course... you get the drift. She can't buy things like tons of clothes because she'd have to carry it around.
⒌ What does she do for a living? Is she good at it? Does she enjoy it, or would she rather be doing something else?

She's a Pokémon trainer and yes, she's good at it. She loves it through and through and wouldn't mind doing it for the rest of her life. She wants to be that 65-year old granny who hikes through Twist Mountain instead of one who spends her time knitting sweaters.
⒍ What are her interests or hobbies? How does she spend her free time?

Pokémon pokémon pokémon. Pokémon is her life and her main hobby and her 'job'. She travels all over the region without a particular place to go to in mind - while she doesn’t neglect the task entrusted to her by Juniper, she makes sure to have fun and never stress about it. She loves to battle and frequently hangs out at the Battle Subway because she's competitive and racking up points for prizes while enjoying herself is pretty awesome. She does musicals too, though she's only involved in dressing them up and keeping up the spirits.

Lately, she's been really into solving crosswords. She buys a crossword magazine when she's town and saves it for later when she's by the campfire before she goes to sleep. During the evenings, she also often looks at the stars or makes up stories for her Pokémon.
⒎ What are her eating habits? Does she skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?

Her meals tend to be rather simple due to travelling and you can't really be picky on the road. She's far from being an amazing cook, but at least it's edible (albeit pretty bland). When she gets the chance to while in the city, her stomach turns into a bottomless pit and she can spend hours at a restaurant. Her mindset is basically "I can eat all I want today, I'll burn it off anyway".

She likes junk food in general, but she can do without it because you're unlikely to find a McDonalds in the middle of nowhere or on the top of a mountain. Most of the time she lives on making soup, eating trail mix and general non-perishable food.
