I haven't been to SF since sometime back in the eighties... I visited my friend in the Haight for a few days and he gave me tours of the city.

He lived across the street from Janis Joplin's old place: he really idolizes her and has one of the larger collections of JJ memorabilia around, including dresses and outfits.

That is a really cool photo! I had no idea that Sutro Tower was so close to the Transamerica pyramid!

Very nice! I still don't think I'd want to live there, but it's enough to make me want to go back and visit (and in no small part because I never got to visit Alcatraz...sadface).

Also, per your earlier post, I definitely think I see some skyscrapers in that view that weren't around the last time I was there. Most of the rest looks pretty familiar, though.
